  1. I think it should be a bowling green - travesty to make it an entertainments venue.
  2. Do the community speed watchers also monitor bike speed as I am not sure that the 20 mile an hour applies to bikes but may be someone can enlighten me or whether they should be allowed to bicycle through red lights? I think the police in royal parks give out tickets to bikes, but not sure how the community would do this as there are no number plates to identify. I have seen some awful incidents in peckam with bicyclists at speed and pedestrians colliding.
  3. Residents in Lambeth and Lewisham have put enough pressure on their councils to overturn closures at Loughborough Junction and New Cross; I don't understand why we can't overturn the closures and then I will be tea dancing in Margy Square.
  4. I will find out who funded her and post up here. I don't know who else would fund this. Our counsellors would know and we could ask them too.
  5. I came by this information from another shop-keeper in west dulwich; the lady on stilts went into her shop after she had walked around dulwich village. She was told (by the people who paid for her and organized her) to keep her appearance as a surprise as the locals were not happy with the road closure and I presumed it was southwark paying her as she was carrying a shop local sign and I expect they have a budget for keeping shops open. Not sure about the last part. Might be able to find out more if necessary.
  6. I am not sure who is funding these duets and we also had a women on stilts arrive in dulwich village - I believe she was being paid by southwark to walk around dulwich village - a day when no-one was there saying shop local. I would prefer the money to be spent on supplies for the foodbank.
  7. Hello Rahrahrah, it took 20 minutes for me to travel from pickwick to Woodwarde road with ladders; I am a local business and it is making life difficult. It will be far worse in early september.
  8. The closure of the dulwich village junction is pushing a lot of traffic through the middle of the village and when I have the door of my shop open which I like to do in the summer and during current times I cannot hear anyone on the phone or anyone in my shop. The buses and music etc is overwhelming. Similarly in Peckham where I live the buses have been moved off lordship lane and are now on my street also increasing the noise levels and pollution. I don't see it as massive entitlement; the traffic won't just disappear but will increase and it will affect a lot of businesses where there is movement around the area for example flower deliveries, funerals, interior work for measures and dry cleaning vans.
  9. These two came into my shop last week. I kept an eye on them and then they left. So they are out and about.
  10. Hi there - do you teach biology a level. best wishes Jane
  11. My daughter requires an A level Biology tutor. She is just starting the second year of sixth form. I hope to hear from you.
  12. My daughter has missed some history teaching as her teacher is off on long term sick leave. I hope there is someone out there - the course is Edexcel (Pearson) and the topic is south Africa - Apartheid to Rainbow Nations.
