  1. Hi, Would anyone know who can collect scrap metal (loads of radiators) in SE22? Thanks!
  2. Hello, Just recommending a fantastic mobile hairdresser, Sue, as I was really delighted with my cut and wanted to share her details. She's on 07779 272524. She also recommended Sarah for colouring and again, very happy to recommend Sarah who is great too! Sarah is on 07747 000225.
  3. Thanks everyone. Our security system is working fully - just flagging the attempt to disable it given it?s concerning.
  4. Thanks very much Spartacus. Agree that it seems likely they?re trying to disable alarms / cameras. We?ve given neighbours the heads up today.
  5. Hi all, Flagging that someone came into our front porch area and cut the WiFi/phone line last night (presumably before attempting to access our property). We heard the guy as we were all in the front room. Police have advised us be extra vigilant. Anyone else have any similar issues last night? (Or has this happened to anyone else before?). We are in the North Cross Road area. Thank you.
  6. Hi there. We?d also like to recommend John. He is friendly, arrived promptly and worked hard all day, his plastering is so neat and tidy and he cleaned and cleared everything away. A great job done, and all from a social distance. Highly recommend.
  7. Alex at Crown Joiners stepped in and solved a real mess caused by another carpenter fitting a front door for us. Wish we?d started off with him! We're hoping to use Crown Joinery later in the year for some new windows but in the meantime, highly recommend them as they're real craftsmen. 8. How funny. Our cat brought this through the cat flap a couple of nights ago but seems to be a different well loved/worn monkey! Hope you find yours.
  9. Happy New Year everyone. We just wanted to recommend the brilliant services of Alex Fernandes of Crown Joinery. Before Christmas, we were very badly let down by another carpenter. Alex and his colleague re-hung a door and fitted it to an existing frame for us, and made good the errors of the previous 'tradesman'. He made our property secure, fitted us in during the busy Christmas period and is an excellent craftsman. We wished we'd found him sooner and highly recommend his services. We'll certainly be using him again and wanted to share this recommendation as he's one of the best we've come across. Thanks. Crown Joinery Office 4C Unit 3 Tyrrell Road? 10. I am 90% sure I saw this cat earlier on Archdale Road, if I see him again I?ll certainly call you!
  11. I saw a cat similar to this in the front garden of the house on the corner of Court Lane and Dovercourt Road (right hand side as you're looking towards Court Lane Gardens) last weekend, on me saying hello it popped over and was very vocal for a while, was very friendly and then followed us along Dovercourt Road for a bit. I remember thinking the cat looked young, and wonder if this was your Bonny as it was a black cat with a similar shaped face to the photos/green eyes. Might be worth a look along there? If I see the cat again I'll certainly call you.
  12. Highly recommend Aria, and Dan and Ken in the team, who were highly efficient in fixing a waste pipe in our kitchen and re-sealing a shower base which was leaking. Very responsive and easy to deal with. If only they'd diversify into other trades! Great service, thank you guys.
  13. The OP wasn't meant to alarm anyone but the police have asked us to check with our neighbours and certainly have experience of markings being used by burglars, so it's not an urban myth I'm afraid. Thanks Amy, it's not any of those symbols and sufficiently away from the road that it wouldn't be a utility marking.
  14. Thank you all - appreciate your input. The doorstep is set well back from the road via a pathway so it's very unlikely to be related to street and utility repair. We're central East Dulwich and have interrupted burglars before (fairly recently), hence the heightened awareness of anything suspicious. I hope these markings were made by children playing, and I note the logic in what you're saying Rendelharris, and it does seem a strange thing to do to risk exposure but then the marking was pretty small and unobtrusive. The police say that they've not seen markings related to burglaries for a little while but they do have experience of this and there has been an increase in burglaries in the area. If anyone does see any symbols, please notify the police. Thanks.
