  1. Hi everyone, Would love to join the group please, due our second mid September. Was part of the summer babies group in 2018 and found it a great support. My number is 075998 26249. Looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you soon. Hollie

  3. George, I am very sorry to hear of your situation however it is unfair to tell others to avoid the nursery because of it. The nursery is a business. You signed a contract that said the deposit was non-refundable. Why should the nursery have to waive the conditions of the contract because they no longer suit you? Any nursery in East Dulwich could have done the exact same thing. We have had a fantastic experience with the nursery to date and I would very much recommend them. Our child has come on leaps and bounds during their time there and the keyworkers show a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the children every single day. Haven't been able to fault a thing so far. Please don't let the above poster put you off.
  4. Thank you ladies for the very reassuring posts. Would love to join a group Catherine - I'll PM you my number. I'm with the Ivy Green team.
  5. Hi there, I'm due mid June with my first. I moved to the area earlier this year and would really love to meet other mums/mums-to-be as I am a little worried about feeling isolated and lonely during maternity leave as I am the first of my group of friends to be having a baby. Family is not close enough to just 'pop' round either. Can anyone recommend local activities or classes other than the usual NCT? I am early thirties. Hope everyone's pregnancies are going well!
  6. Does the term dark kitchen not come from the fact that they are windowless boxes?
  7. Anyone know what's going on? Looks as though they are filming inside one of the houses. Proper set with a catering tent!
  8. This morning I saw that Voodoo Rays (pizza) is opening on Peckham Rye next to the Little Winners nursery (Nigel Road bus stop).
  9. I'm really sorry to share that a cat has been hit by a car and killed at the junction of Dunstans Road and Crebor Street. I only heard the commotion from inside my flat and don't know the full details of how it happened. The cat has been placed under the tree on the pavement opposite from the junction. Does anyone have any advice of what to do? The people involved said they were going to try and do something but have left the scene.
  10. Hi there, Just moved into a ground floor flat and can't help but notice how chilly the floors feel, even the carpeted floors are colder than I'd like to walk on. We have access to the floor boards from the cellar and I wondered if anyone else has laid underfloor insulation and can recommend a good local trader?
  11. We drove past a car on Crebor Street on Friday morning and front and back windows had also both been smashed in. Absolutely awful!
  12. Hi there, I've recently moved into the area and am wondering if there is someone around East Dulwich that sells plants cheaper than large nurseries/B&Q etc. My parents buy theirs from their local Saturday market at a fraction of the price. Any recommendations?
  13. Those are beautiful. If anyone is looking for prints, Place in Print does some of the area: http://www.placeinprint.com/designers/south-london-prints
  14. Hence 'also'. Given the generic title of the thread, I thought I might add useful information for those simply looking for info on fireworks displays.
  15. Southwark are also hosting their firework night at Southwark Park on Saturday the 5th. Free tickets available now for Southwark residents. www.southwark.gov.uk/fireworks
