  1. I needed a TV aerial installed recently, it was a tricky job and I struggled to find someone. I ended up using Aerial Services www.aerialservices.co.uk. The engineer was called James and he was absolutely brilliant and gave me some really helpful advice. They also do sky installations and aren't put off by jobs where the aerial/dish needs to be placed in harder to access areas.
  2. Another well deserved recommendation for Stephen Tozer. I recently completed a property refurbishment project and needed carpets for the stars and bedrooms. I thought (of all the many things I needed) that buying and fitting a carpet would be the simplest - how wrong I was. After receiving a horrendous service from some of the well know companies, I found Stephen's details on the forum and contacted him. Stephen was incredible, he gave me some excellent (and cost effective) advice and sourced me a fantastic product and fitted it beautifully. His service was exceptional and he is a really lovely guy as well. I will definitely be using him again and have no hesitation in recommending him.
  3. Alas it's a top Floor flat so planning required.
  4. Hi All, I'm currently in the process of evaluating quotes for a loft conversion. I have 2 lofts, the one over the main section of the house has insufficient headheight and lowering the floor would destroy the quality of the living space below. However the top floor is split level and the loft over the outrigger is perfect to add on a rear dormer without going anywhere near the current ridge height. The costs V the space created ratio works out well if the dormer extends the whole length of the outrigger, but I don't see many in the area extending out the whole way. The ratio gets questionable the further I push it back. Does anyone have any experience with submitting full outrigger length plans and Southwark pushing back? If so by what distance? Any help much appreciated. KR Abby
  5. Hi All, I am hoping to do a loft conversion on a top floor flat in East Dulwich. It's a complicated project and I've been advised to consult with an architect and get plans drawn up and submit a planning application ASAP. As Southwark council are notoriously hard to please, I think I would really benefit from a local architect with knowledge and experience of dealing with them. If anyone has any recommendations they would be gratefully received. I would also be very interested in recommendations (or warnings) about loft conversion builders. Many thanks, Abby
