Firepits on warm evenings
Mr Django Wisteria replied to Applespider's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Mallard, Gas is sustainable but is often sold in metal containers which are not always recycled especially for camping which is a challenge in itself -

I really don't understand the mentality of: a) not using dry wood & minimizing smoke b) not being considerate with neighbours c) not keeping a firepit well away from windows if possible d) people who drone on about how gas & propane are better than wood I'm an outdoors man & knowing how to start a fire is an important survival skill, the others ie lighting gas & using a firelighter all pale into insignificance on that score. As a general comment: I was on a Climate Change panel with Jeremy Corbyn at my university so I do have an idea what is a problem (that contributes towards poor quality air) in the city ie working people being in urban areas in their millions demanding all types of resources which are unsustainable and generally farting about. -
A small bunch of keys- car key, house key and bike lock keys with brass ring with cogged teeth on it. Lost in Lordhsip Lane around lunchtime between Mind, the 2 St Christopher's charity shops, two newsagents near Johnnies cafe, the 24hr shop & Farmers - those were the shops I went into. I locked up my bike outside the 24hr shop then when I went back they seemed to have vanished. Please call me if you picked them up I'd quite like them back before I go away on holiday if possible! Tell people why you have deleted a post
Mr Django Wisteria replied to Mr Django Wisteria's topic in The Lounge
It is not clear that's why I am asking and it does not hurt you to make your site clearer because it is not. A dog walker is not necessarily a business. Think about it. -
Bollocks to this let's all be Bwitish and miserable and exclude "johnny foreigner" I refuse to call myself "British" now after this debacle We should be ashamed of our so called maturer citizens who voted overwhelmingly to leave What is there to be "happy" about ! It's a power grab by the Tories combined with a complete attack on our civil liberties.

My posts on forum keep disappearing - help?
Mr Django Wisteria replied to Katiesa's topic in The Lounge
I've had the same thing but realized you are deleting my posts and not saying why! That is why I have asked for clarity on this issue. It's not helpful to delete and say nothing. You are a "forum" are you not! -
Kindly tell people why you've deleted a thread and don't just delete it and think people know why you've done it I have searched for items relating to say 'dog walking' and 'dog walkers' and your search engine showed up nothing It is no clearer where something like that should be posted. Thank you.

I'm looking for a dog walker near Peckham Rye. Can you recommend one please?

Bonfires are fine so long as people are considerate. Being considerate meaning the following: Speaking to neighbour's about your occasional need for bonfires Not burning stuff at the hottest times of the year July & August Not burning plastic or potentially toxic to air items Having water near to hand so that you can drown or damp down the fire if you go out and have to leave it smouldering Make sure the bonfire is attended and well away from sheds and fences Do not put hot ash in bins or skips Allow ash to cool over a day and spread out the ash to cool That's just my view based on 40 years of experience on this matter
