  1. Blanche and Lewis - would be nice to see the latest pictures of the group gathered on site to protest; given the numbers you're talking about and the local support you claim I'm sure there must have been hundreds of people showing the council and church what the local community think.
  2. Hop One - what would be your timeframe for not carrying out work while birds are thinking about [nesting]?
  3. If there were birds nesting you can bet your bottom dollar Lewis would have filmed them when he yomped through the undergrowth the other day. Also, if it's nesting season then surely SSW should protest somewhere they won't be disturbing the wildlife? Why not the council offices?
  4. Come and witness an environmental crime in your own back garden NIMBY in action; this is it in a nutshell. Blanche and co. don't care about anyone else - not different religions, not war graves - as long as 'their' overgrown cemetery isn't back in use with all those awful people driving hearses and being sad near their homes.
  5. Nice of SSW to mock people here on Twitter while not having the courtesy to answer questions
  6. If we're going to discuss One Tree Hill being a hill or not, should the number of trees on it be an issue too? :)
  7. 'I?ll hazard a guess that the comfortable majority of the people posting here are just against ?SSW?' No, the comfortable majority are for facts, responses and a lack of hyperbole rather than against anything 'I really hope and don?t in fact believe you represent the majority of people who live in Southwark or London or in the educated world for that matter' So people who disagree with you are uneducated? Really? That's your approach?
  8. I'm curious why SSW won't mention The Telegraph in their tweets - it's almost as if they don't want anyone pointing out their latest outrage is as flimsy as the last.
  9. SSW/FOCC are being interviewed this afternoon by the press in the cemetery around 4.45pm. They've tweeted about it so I'm sure they'd welcome all to the discussion.
  10. As a friends of... group have they elected a chair and so on? Presumably the minutes of their meetings are online for the public? They'll also have a headcount of attendees... Blanche, I know you don't like answering questions but these are quite important ones.
  11. Having failed to stir up a religious storm, SSW - apologies, FOCC (Friends of Camberwell Cemeteries) - are now trying a won't someone think of the unmarked WWI graves? angle.
  12. "it may not be a pure coincidence that all this activity came shortly after the dissolution of a certain company, and the attempted shuttering of a certain charity (not a very effective shuttering, given the Charity Commission reckon the 2014 accounts are now 645 days overdue)" Well now I'm intrigued. Care to name names? It's OK - SSW are entirely happy with a interpretative approach to data and facts...
  13. So she'll ensure that SSW remove all references to religious discrimination from their website and social media?
  14. Hello Blanche - nice that you found the time to pop in and post your meeting details. Unfortunately I'm watching TV tonight but could you answer a question - it's yes or no, so will take you less than five seconds to answer. Do SSW support burial for all in Southwark? As discussed by everyone else, if it's no then you're stirring up religious tensions when hate crime is on the rise...
  15. Also the repeated use of 'local people' in those questions make the League Of Gentlemen look subtle.
  16. It's a yes or no question you're avoiding and frankly your whole campaign comes down around your ears because you refuse to answer it in clear terms: Do SSW support burial for all in Southwark? If it's no then you're stirring up religious tensions at a time when hate crime is on the rise, and that is a dreadful.
  17. The time it takes SSW to copy and paste their latest press release could be spent answering the one Yes or No question that interested people want answering... Do SSW support burial for all in Southwark? Unfortunately Blanche seems happier slapping herself on the back for misleading the local press
  18. SSW are not pro faith, they are pro somewhere to go for a walk on Sundays. They have changed their tune and now want the council to pay ??? for burial for all, as long as it's nowhere near them. I believe the term is NIMBY.
  19. Blanche, don't just turn up, copy and paste your press releases and go. Stop. Talk to us. People are asking you do this.
  20. Having spent months if not years accusing everyone else of not listening, Blanche and co. seem reluctant to engage with the public via a public local forum. The time spent writing inflammatory and rude tweets might be better spent presenting a clear argument to people who want to listen.
  21. Having spent a lot of time accusing other people of not listening you don't seem to want to engage.
  22. Hello again Blanche (or anyone else from the group) - you were quite busy online yesterday so surprised you couldn't find the time to engage with the public, so I'll repeat myself Yes or no: do SSW support an increase in burial provision for all faiths in the borough? You can't argue that the provision of burial plots is discriminating against faiths if your aim is to have no burial at all.
  23. If the answer is no it's offensive to *everyone* to invoke people's faith to further your cause and you should really find a different angle.
  24. Hello again... it's a yes or no question that you seem to avoiding: Do SSW support an increase in burial provision for all faiths in the borough?
  25. Hello Blanche - just so we're all clear, are you calling for the council to provide extra burial space for orthodox muslim and jewish burials in the borough? You seem to be avoiding a yes or no answer.
