teenagers mugged - how to make them feel safe again?
sasmasgen replied to DiD's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
DiD, really sorry this happened to your son and his friends, how absolutely terrifying. A few years ago when I was at uni, I chased down a gang intent on kicking the sh*t out of a young boy and put myself between him & them while he was cowering on the floor. It was probably only because I'm a girl (and was screaming like a crazy person) that they backed off. Afterwards I realised how stupid it could have been, but I'd do it again in the same situation. (That being said, this was Canterbury, not South London, and the boys probably weren't carrying knives.) We really need to look out for each other, and it's incredibly sad that none of the drivers stopped. So no, Penguin, it's nothing new and no one is suggesting it's the area going downhill, but we can all do more. As others have said, DiD, police victim support can be really great (they've helped me and those I know hugely in the past, even for some quite minor things) and self defence or boxing classes are not a bad shout to help them regain some confidence. I hope they recover soon x -
Just wanted to throw a recommendation on here for Pizza pickup. We ate there for the first time this evening after meaning to for some time and were really impressed. The owner is super lovely and the pizza is delicious; thin crispy Roman bases with classic toppings. Ignore the nasty Time Out review from the miserable dude - this is a local gem, and as a different thread on here confirms is dog friendly. In my humble opinion, give Voodoo rays a miss and go here instead!

Looking for a reasonably priced hairdresser
sasmasgen replied to sasmasgen's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Thanks all for the recommendations. Ideally I'd like to pay under ?30.... Unfortunately Lily is setting up shop - I've seen a lot of recommendations for Margaret on here, any other fine haired beings had experience with her? Ta -
Hey Donna, I use Coach Carter - https://www.theedpt.com/ - he is really great!

Thank you siousxiesue - will look them up! -
Hi there fellow hair-havers, I am looking for a hairdresser (mobile or salon based) who charges reasonably/by hair length and type. I (a female woman) have short, fine hair and am tired of being charged the same price for cuts and colours as those with long, lustrous locks. Any recommendations would be received with thanks. Have a wonderful Monday, Sas.

To the chap who caught our runaway pup today - thanks very much! Our dog walker said you'd left me a voicemail when you found him, but for whatever reason it didn't come through, so I don't have a number to contact you on personally. Hopefully you read this & know we are very grateful! L, J & Ivan (the sausage)

There is a live petition that can be signed here: https://www.change.org/p/fight-unfair-dog-restrictions-in-southwark?recruiter=745707919&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=share_petition The way in which the council went about the consultation should alarm everyone, not just dog owners. Please sign it so we can have a happy, dog friendly borough (with no one shitting on pavements, ideally).

So sorry to hear Magnus is missing Sophie. He is in our garden (Hindmans road) a lot - I think the last time I saw him was a few days ago - maybe Saturday. We'll keep an eye out for him and I've posted your flyer on my social media asking other locals to keep their eyes peeled too. Hope he turns up soon!

Just wanted to throw a recommendation on here for Coach Cater and his group HIIT sessions on Saturdays down in Peckham. All abilities can attend & the coach is really encouraging - he will work you hard though!! Info can be found on his post here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,1806843,1806843#msg-1806843 He also offers personal training & nutrition - all variations of which can be found on his website here: https://www.theedpt.com/

Been there for dinner and brunch - both great. The gobi dish for dinner was nothing short of amazing. A lovely place & very instagrammable ;)
