  1. Can anyone recommend a local carpenter, specifically to repair a few lower wooden stair treads and risers which have dropped and making a hell of a racket!! Getting carried down the stairs by two ambulance crew didn't help, too much weight on the stairs! Thanks
  2. Well folks, based on what I saw today down Northcross Market, folks packed together almost shoulder to shoulder munching on pulled pork and popcorn, mulled wine and coffee, barely a mask in sight, a real super spreader extravaganza indeed. If you're thinking of taking an elderly relative or anybody with pre-existing conditions for a stroll through the market, think hard before doing so, it's clearly a place for the young and the immune only.I'd like to have shared some photos but naming and shaming isn't cool or allowed.
  3. "GO OUT IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT BUT TRY NOT TO CATCH IT. GO TO WORK IF YOU WANT TO BUT BE CAREFUL. DON'T EVER SAY WE DIDN'T WARN YOU IF IT FLARES UP AGAIN, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT" I think this was what Boris was saying on Sunday or did I get it wrong?
  4. Here is a shout out to the 'manager/owner' of the Palmerston Pub. I walked past just a few days ago and the side entrance into Northcross road was open and he was standing in the doorway petting his ginger cat cradled in his arms and chatting to four 'locals' sitting on the benches drinking coffee from takeaway cups on the benches immediately outside. One guy asked if it was ok to sit there to which he replied 'yes you're fine, no problem', what an idiot!! If the manager would like a photo of the incident, I would be happy to oblige but for the purposes of this forum, it would infringe on his privacy.
  5. Following the outrage and controversy surrounding the demolishment of the East Dulwich, Spa, Wellbeing and Conference Center in Upland Road, architects and planners have been working tirelessly to replace this iconic building. The hoarding teases passers-by with 'Coming Soon........four stunning designer luxury townhouses'. What we have are four cobbled together architectural carbuncles made from what seems to be odd coloured and mis-matched mud bricks crudely aligned into a dwelling designed by some disgruntled ex-Legoland employee. The windows and doors look like 'new old stock' from the 1970's, maybe from the original Coronation Street set? Please tell me if I am being a little harsh, especially if you happen to live near these! Can't wait for the hoardings to be removed, put your sunglasses on, you're going to need them.
  6. On my way down to the post office this morning, I counted 14 (YES FOURTEEN) discarded LATEX GLOVES and 7 masks from Upland Road to the corner of Northcross Road and the High Street, either in the gutter or actually on the pavement. This is a shout out to those irresponsible idiots who think this is ok? It's amazing how the same people will probably 'bag and bin' what their dogs leave behind yet haven't got the common sense to bag and responsibly dispose of possibly LETHAL personal protective equipment. I saw a child pick up a glove and 'take it to mum' who was horrified and instantly wiped the childs hands with an antiseptic wipe!!! Here's also a shout out to the woman getting into her black BMW SUV parked along from M&S about 10:40am this morning who removed her mask and threw it into the road. She knows who she is. I am going out later this afternoon with a bin liner and garden 'grabbers' to clean up the ones I saw earlier. This is utterly unbelievable.
