I?m looking for someone who can come and lay a brick patio in Peckham. I?ve had a few quotes from people who want to lay a concrete base and cement each brick in but I?m looking for someone who can do it ?properly?, ie compact the earth / rubble and then lay a very flat bed of sand for the bricks to sit on, lay the bricks and then infill with more sand. I would also recommend Andy Jacob. At very short notice, and on Good Friday no less, he came round to look at a curtain pole that had fallen down and taken a load of plaster with it. Holes in the wall are now filled and he?s coming back shortly to put the pole back up now the plaster is dry. Polite, tidy and very reasonably priced. No hesitation in recommending him.

I?m looking for someone who can come and take up a bit of the flooring in my kitchen and do a core test of whatever is underneath so I can work out if under floor heating is possible or will cost too much due to having to dig out the floor! Adam did a fantastic job on my garden today. It had been neglected for quite a while and him and his mate just got stuck in for a few hours and it now looks transformed. I?m now looking forward to spending time outside during this good weather, rather than feeling guilty for not having kept on top of the garden - got straight out there with the baby this afternoon to enjoy it! Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who can supply and fit seagrass, sisal, jute, coir etc flooring? I need some advice on which is best to use as well. Any help much appreciated!

I'm looking for a recommendation for someone to put up scaffolding on the front of my house, check the render is not damaged, repair it where it is, sort out lead flashing on window tops etc etc. One of those jobs that's a bit difficult to scope out until the scaffolding is up and they can have a good look at what's going on. I do know that there are some plants growing out of windowsills etc so there's definitely some repair work to be done! But would like someone who knows what they're doing - with all the painted frontages of houses in ED, Peckham etc there must be someone with this expertise! Many thanks in advance.

I've just had a guy called Zhivko Kovachev in to repair two original Victorian sash windows that had been neglected for many years. He did an amazing job stripping them back to the wood, repairing them, sorting out the sashes, adding draft proofing, replacing cracked glass etc and repainting. I wanted to pass on a recommendation for Bradley who did an amazing job cleaning carpets when we moved into a new house. He also rejuvenated an old rug that had seen better days.
