  5. It actually has an inconspicuous Matt protective coating on it and I'll do a second coat any day. This means any scrawling over it can be scrubbed off with soapy water. You'd not know it was there as we only put it on the queen and corgi characters themselves not the white wall. The kingfisher across the road (by Will Vibes - private commission from the charity shop) you'll see they unfort painted the whole white wall so you can really see how sticky the coating can get and pick up lots of dirt. That's badly graffitied and could be cleaned off. I similarly varnished the two boxers (only) on spurling rd in March 2020 and then regularly just pop down with white masonry paint to cover over tagging that occurs - so fingers crossed these should last a long while yet!! On that note the owner of the boxers (fight club, Conor harrington) I see has put a black cable right across the middle of the wall !!! Aaagh
  6. We seemed to have all sadly missed the Queen & Corgis opp Lordship pub after vandalism a while back.So i've been catching up with artist Catman the last couple years and found the nice and flatly rendered solid wall by Bon coffee shop Frogley Rd just off Lordship Lane. Takes a while actually to find a nice wall / owner in a visible spot in ED (thanks Mick)to let us paint here. Also as this isn't funded, i persuaded Glen off his scaffold on a job across the road! who kindly filled in some gaps and painted it a fresh white so all perfect and ready for the artist to do his stencilling. This is the last time Catman could use this particular stencil (as he'd done a few, and was up to his limit) so I persuaded him to save his last spray for us good folk of SE22 until i secured the location in time for the Jubilee, so last week on a sunny Friday (as i also happened to be guiding a group of refugees round on a street art walk - lets not forget these Afghan, Syrian, Ivory Coast and Myanmar displaced folk, been here a couple years interested in all aspects of their host country) to their delight and to the many residents and passers by! check out some clips in progress insta : dulwichstreetart. www.dulwichoutdoorgallery.co.uk SEE PHOTO ATTACHED If you saw the booklets, you'll see i did the walks recently for Dulwich Festival and do bespoke groups all ages, times to suit you [email protected] Regards, Amanda

  17. Thanks to everyone who came on the Street Art walks. I did the third extra date as I was suggesting here on EDF due to initial sell out. Lots of lovely interested folk came and liking the connection to the Old Masters at DPG - as it's not always obvious (and you can obviously enjoy the artworks as they are anyhow without knowing this!) Im doing an evening walk Friday June 9th, again a one way ticket from opposite East Dulwich station ("Girl at the Window", Vale End) To Dulwich Picture Gallery. 7- 8:30pm. I'm doing this date particularly to co-incide with the late night opening of the gallery (free til 10pm). They have some "Pavilion Lates" over the summer. tho need to register for tickets separately for this end bit via Eventbrite. June 9th event they call a "Baroque mash-up". You can buy tickets for my walking tour ?10/ ?9 also via Evenbrite. See Facebook.com/streetartdulwich for the link and event info
  18. As last weekends tickets sold out, I've added an extra date for the Street Art walk, Sat 20th meeting at 2pm Vale End (Girl at the Window) across rd ED Station. I've also negotiated free entry again at DPG! we do this at the end (optional, good to look at the originals they are based on. If you go into the Gallery then tour finishes 5 when DPG closes. Tickets via dulwichfestival.co.uk ?9. See you there!
  19. Hi there Yes, the walk is approx 2 hours. We start at "The Girl at the Window" opposite East Dulwich Station and make our way up Lordship Lane via the "Fight Club" guys by EDT all the way up to The Plough pub (near the Library), through the park to the gallery itself. Loads to look at en route! Large murals, tiny works you may not have noticed, sculptures dotted around too. The work is there free for all to see at anytime. There are now many info placards on each site explaining the present artist and the original (more to come if not there at the mo. All will be done soon) However, I'll be leading this walk for the Dulwich Festival and just as my neighbour said to me "I've walked past these many times - I don't know who they are by, how they came to be here or why - but i like them!" So this is for you if you've wondered this yourself. I've even negotiated free entry to The Gallery (Sat is free all day at DPG by the way anyway for the Festival) so you can pop in and see the original pieces. This will be optional at the end of the tour (approx 4-5pm) It's a wonderful project set up by Ingrid Beazley in 2012/13 and she got 20 renown street artists from around the world to interpret some of the old masters at Dulwich picture Gallery which are great, but not everybody's thing. This collection out on the street brings those Baroque classics (i.e. Rembrandt's "girl" painted 1645) bang up to date! Yes both days are sold out (this Sat, Sun) I have proposed to the festival i do an extra date Saturday 20th 2-4pm again so watch this space. (plus will be group rate ?4 DPG entry, optional at the end) Also I will be doing walks/talks after the Festival. This is Ingrid's legacy and she knew she wouldn't be around to take these guided walks so has been briefing me on this over the last few months as I also worked at DPG in the Education dept providing the school tours. Hope this helps, Amanda
  20. Always use Callows. The same friendly staff there know their business
  21. Just had Callum supply and fit my alarm today. I particularly wanted to support a local business of course though he does have a experience and a genuine passion about security through working with large clients nationwide! I went for the app for my iPhone which is great. I can check what's going on at home from anywhere with internet connection (from local cafes or whilst having tea in China) and even lazily set the alarm on/off from my bed upstairs at night (to activate just the downstairs whilst we sleep). Came with remote switches and key fob tab thing also if you can't be bothered with doing numbers which you still can do of course on the box, just offers lots of options. Good price, quick turnaround.
  22. Ah lovely, hope you have a great party! (i don't log into EDF v often so i do appreciate I replied to your message a month late!) Happy Birthday! Amanda
  23. Hi there Did you find someone? I do a lot of weddings, birthdays (mainly 30-40-50) but I did DJ for Bruce Forsythe's 80th at the BBC a couple of years ago! (don't worry, I have my local price too!) so I cater for all ages. I'm local. Got all the twinkly lights, speakers, amp, microphone plus HUGE collection of music. Plus friendly with old and young - taking requests, tho I'd meet beforehand to go thru your preferred and favourite tunes. I can pop over for a chat and see whats required. Amanda www.aquamanda.net/DJaquamanda.htm PM Me
  24. I'm personally putting up the money for this (hire of headphones, delivery, lights etc) and hire of hall and refreshments. It probably won't even cover my costs. Sometimes we just have to make an effort and come up with something different, especially for teenagers, plus to do something interesting for the festival programme (all run purely by volunteers). If there is any profit the festival does gets a cut. There are a few events on that evening i.e. Johh Hedgeley at Alleyns Theatre - the venue requires a dozen or more stewards (as it's their policy) so a lot of steward volunteers will be there. Plus EDT acoustic night I think. I, like myself, only seem to know single mums! and have a couple coming down, plus a dad. So Vesti I'm not asking you to help, I've suggested this event to the Festival Committee last year and taken it all on board myself. So, I'm just putting it out there as a request should anyone fancy coming down and keeping an eye out (as I'll be one of the Dj's and therefore can't be everywhere). You coming down then?
  25. thanks. Yes, there are not many things aimed at children that are cool these days. It is a risk taking it on and organising this, so I hope they don't let me down by any misbehavin' - I'm doin' it for the kids!
