I've just learned from a post on Facebook that Beatrice from French Caf? Bistrot sadly passed away suddenly on Saturday 24 July. The caf? is raising funds to assist Beatrice's parents support her 10 year old daughter. They are taking donations in person at the caf? or via their bank account, the details of which are in their Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=4163203860384186&id=152354891469123

Brick House Bread announced they aren't reopening
nicmitch replied to Azalea's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
My prediction (based on pure speculation on my part and absolutely no evidence to. back it up). Dough Artisan Bakehouse takes over both the vacated premises. That's the business owned by the winner of the latest Apprentice, a bakery/coffee shop in Herne Hill and wannabe chain with ambitious expansion plans courtesy of Alan Sugar's investment. I mean, it would be terribly convenient for a direct competitor of Lord Sugar's latest acquisition to be driven out by their landlords without warning and 2 x ready-made SE London bakery/coffee shop premises fit for purpose to become available at just the right time.... To reiterate, complete speculation by me with absolutely no evidence to back any of this up... -
Just seen that a drive-thru KFC is supposedly coming soon to "Forest Hill Dulwich"... Could that be the old Harvester spot? https://www.mylondon.news/news/zone-1-news/kfc-restaurants-drive-thrus-set-16922262?fbclid=IwAR3gI-T2-2LKKoikQN-PmxmEooVUJ4pGhKJ2dew-3Dpp9qc3nxM4_d9tbgk

UPDATE: SI HAS TONIGHT (27/11) BEEN REUNITED WITH HIS DELIGHTED OWNERS THANKS TO AN EDF USER, BRILLIANT OUTCOME :) Not my cat, posting on behalf of someone else: MISSING CAT - Our much loved cheeky chappy, Si has gone missing. He's not been back home (in Crofton Park SE4) since Thursday 23 November. There's a confirmed sighting of him in the Peckham Rye/ Homestall Road/ Colyton Road/ Stuart Road area - some 2 miles from his home!! - on Friday 24 November, last seen in someone's back garden at 11pm that night. He's extremely fluffy, black with a white chest and tummy, 4 white paws and a distinctive white stripe down the right side of his nose. His front paws look overly large for his size! If anyone has seen him please let me know. Thank you x

Hope it's ok to post this... Was shocked to discover how much of a cut JustGiving take, so I've started a petition asking that they waive their fees in relation to Grenfell donations. Would be grateful if you could take a look (and sign and share if you're happy to do so)... Hopefully it can make a difference - even if they don't waive in full, then with enough support they may agree to a cap at least... Thanking you :) https://www.change.org/p/justgiving-justgiving-waive-your-fees-on-donations-to-grenfell-tower-victims?recruiter=79475446&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_for_starters_page&utm_term=762179&utm_content=nafta_share_post_title_en_2%3AFB_share_copy_2

I was looking for a tree surgeon a couple of weeks ago and we ended up plumping for Tim Doidge of Sakura Trees as he came in with a really competitive quote and had lots of great feedback on the East Dulwich Forum. Tim's quote was almost half the average we received and some ?1540 less than the most expensive quote! Tim and his team came over this week to fell our tree - they did a really fantastic job, no complaints whatsoever, very prompt, tidy, hard-working and professional all round. I'd highly recommend them - and, as mentioned, their price was quite remarkable in comparison to other quotes. T: 07958553219 [email protected]://sakuratreeservice.com/about/

Great, thanks for this feedback, really helpful :)

Having read the recommendations above, we recently invited Tim to quote for the removal of a very large tree in our back garden. His quote is extremely competitive compared to others we've received, so much so that my husband is sceptical as he thinks it's just too good to be true. I'm obviously very tempted by the price and the reviews above are great - just wondering whether there are others on this forum who have had experience of his work? Many thanks :)
