Great news (I'm assuming you mean the one in Peckham Rye?). What time does it open? -
RE: Cord blood donations for home birth
Bishberro replied to skip's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Skip - I donated cord blood after a birth at Kings but I think the lady who started the scheme did home births as well. That was over a year ago so depends how many people she's trained up since as it was just her trying to attend all the births. She's called Terry and it was the Kings Cord Scheme. -
My son is 15 months and for the past few weeks has just been having the one nap. He can last the morning although still gets really tired so I give him lunch around 12 and then he goes down for two and a half hours. It's a pain dropping that morning nap though as I used to love having a shower and getting dressed in peace.

I always miss the one o'clock club at Peckham Rye as my son sleeps between 1 and 3pm when it's on but noticed the one at Crystal Palace does morning sessions. I noticed you have to pay and just wondered if it's worth the drive? Is the indoor area good if it's raining and also is it open over the next few weeks over the summer hols? Thanks, couldn't find that much info about it on the net.

When should you buy proper shoes for newly walking baby?
Bishberro replied to Bishberro's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks for all your help. Think I will go to John Barnett next week and see what they say. -
My 15-month-old son has just started walking. He was really wobbly last week but in a week has come on loads and is quite stable now and walking rather than crawling most of the time. I just wondered when you're supposed to buy them proper fitted shoes like Clarkes as I've heard conflicting things from people. Friends have said you have to leave it until they've been walking at least 6 weeks to buy them proper shoes otherwise they don't learn to balance properly as they're too heavy. But my son's childminder says he's ready for shoes. I keep him barefoot at home but don't want to risk that when he's toddling round outside or in a playground so the poor boy is still in Robeez elasticated leather bootees. I don't want to do the wrong thing and impede his walking plus there's the expense so happy to delay proper shoes for as long as possible! Also, can anyone recommend a good place locally to go for fitting?

Thanks Fuschia, I'll give it a try.

Hi. This is a great thread as I'm always stuck for inspiration. I just had a quick question as was going to try the pesto/phili combo. Can I give my 14-month-old pesto? Wasn't sure if he was able to have the pinenuts because of allergies etc.
