  1. Looking for a fun GCSE science tutor - my son is in Year 10 and wants a male tutor who will make things fun. Any recommendations? Thanks.
  2. Brilliant thank you Sally Eva - that's just the kind of thing I'm looking for.
  3. I've got a few bags of old toys (games, puzzles, cars etc) and possibly cuddily toys to give to charity - is there anywhere in East Dulwich where they can be given to? I'm aware many charity shops don't accept these things nowadays... Any advice gratefully received... Thanks.
  4. Thanks catwoman - very helpful. A good start for information!
  5. Hi, can anyone recommend a cat sitter in the East Dulwich area? I'm looking for someone to potentially look after 2 little kittens (12 weeks old) for a week over half term. Thanks.
  6. Not sure why you are asking if I'm a troll - just wanted advice on where to get a kitten or two - I'm leaning towards Celia Hammond, but will see what happens.
  7. Thanks for your advice - we are probably going to take the Celia Hammond approach with 2 kittens.
  8. I'm looking to get 1 or 2 kittens soon after Easter. I was thinking of getting the kitten(s) via Battersea Dogs/cats home, or Celia Hammond Rescue centre - has anyone got any experience/advice on which one is best, or where best to get the kitten(s)? Thanks
  9. I just found a great new book about being a grandmother. It's called Celebrating Grandmothers by Ann Richardson, it's all about how it feels to be a grandmother - your mother (or granny) won't have it, it looks good and it's not expensive (?7.99). Can buy on Amazon. I enjoyed it because some of it is about being a parent.
  10. Am looking to replace some windows, made to measure - any recommendations of good reliable companies? Thanks
  11. Thanks for the info - it does sound promising - any idea of what time the class is? There doesn't seem to be any details on the website yet...
  12. Hi - can anyone recommend a good drama group/ course/ workshop in East Dulwich for a 7 (soon to be 8) year old boy? I'm looking for something that can hone his acting skills - he's not interested in singing or dancing, just drama. I'm aware of the South London theatre group in West Norwood, which I am considering (but don't know much about), but wondering if there's anything similar in the East Dulwich area. Not interested in Perform or Stagecoach, as that involves singing & dancing. Any thoughts much appreciated Thanks
  13. Thanks for responding to my post - just spoken to Gill who does sound lovely - I've put my son on her waiting list. Thanks for saying he sounds completely normal, in a good way (reassuring!) - he's not in desperate need of a tutor, but I think it would help his confidence and also his enjoyment of reading if he could get a little bit of help.
  14. I'm looking for a tutor to help my 7 year old boy with his comprehension of English. His reading ability is good but he doesn't always understand what he is reading. I'd like a tutor that can engage him with reading, make it enjoyable, and also to help him extend his vocabulary. Can anyone recommend such a tutor?
  15. I have a 7 year old boy who is above average in reading but would benefit from some help with understanding what he reads,(eg books and maths instruction), and also to engage him in reading and to develop his vocabulary. Can anyone recommend a tutor that is good at motivating and making lessons exciting? Thanks
