  1. Doesn't it say that if you're married to a British national you can apply for citizenship after living in the UK 3 years? However it also says you need to have been made a permanent resident but for that you need to have been living here for 5 years. So which one is it?
  2. One thing that we had with both our babies as well was a snuzahero. It's a breathing monitor clip that clips onto their nappy. It doesn't bother them or anything but it was amazing for peace of mind especially with our first as new parents and everything.
  3. My kids are 3yo and an 8 month old...sounds like a good idea and happy to attend if other kids of similar age would be attending.
  4. Can someone explain this to me, please? I'm not interested in applying for citizenship since I already have two nationalities and we're not planning on living in the UK forever so I just see it as a whole lot of paperwork at the moment anyway. I'm an EU national, husband is British and obviously so are our kids. Do I have to now apply for residency? Would someone be able to kindly point me in the right direction to find relevant information, please? Thanks.
  5. 2 kids here. I found that the essentials were clothes (nothing fancy, lots of vests and sleepsuits. Breastfed babies have more BMs than formula babies so there were lots of nappy changes...and vests/sleepsuits are so much easier than cute little outfits which btw they grow out of really quickly). Muslins, plenty of them, they have tons of uses. We had a Sn?zpod both times and I found it amazing for the first 6 months, it meant the only getting up I hsd to do at night was to change their bum. BF'ing advice: for some women it's hard, really hard even and you might be in pain and also an emotional mess, but if you're invested in it then stick with it. By week 3 or so it gets better, like wasaay better. My nipples were sore, cracked and scabbed with both kids and what worked well was rubbing breastmilk on my nipples and boobs out to dry. Good luck, happy healthy pregnancy and baby.
  6. Hello all, new to having kids. New to London (and the UK for the last 4 years). Our daughter is coming up for 3 next month and we're still trying to find her a nursery/preschool but also need to figure our the whole school situation since she'll be starting reception next year. We live near Dulwich Hospital, school recommendations please? What should we be looking for? What should we watch out for? Etc. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for somewhere like > John Lewis and get sent to the Old Kent Road (B&Q, > McD's, Asda etc) you're going to be disappointed > aren't you? I find OKR 'urg' even though I know it > well! I didn't mean to be rude or offend anyone with my comment so apologies of you were. Thank you Vik, that's exactly why I felt how I felt, not what I was expecting since I didn't ask for B&Q, Asda or Argos. Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Hubby and I have got some exploring to do!
  9. We've got a male Maine Coon and he's a chatty boy (he's an indoor cat only). If he's meowing for food he'll growl "oooohhhh" very loudly, as if he's famished and heartbroken. If there's a closed door and he wants to get in, he'll clearly meow "heeelloooo??". He'll also give you more than a head nudge if he wants to be stroked lol. And, he loves playing with water >_
  10. Hello all, Moved here yesterday and we've never lived in London. Where does one go shopping? I'm talking about places like John Lewis or similar. We've got a few home bits to pick up and we were sent to Old Kent Road...This is not the kind of shopping I had in mind...ugh. Any ideas?! TIA x
  11. Thanks everyone. Some really good things by the sound of it and others to consider too. Thank you.
  12. Thank you so much Dadof4 and alex_b for your replies. I appreciate the info.
  13. Hello everyone. We don't live in London and have only been to ED a couple of times but enough to know we like it there and have read good things about the place from a lot of people. Since we don't know the area too well though how's East Dulwich Grove as a street for a family? We have 2 small kids and the property we have found is opposite the hospital. Any thoughts? We like that it's a short walk away from Lordship Lane and train station for hubby to go into the office a few times a week. TIA
