There has been a major flood at Medivet Lordship Lane. Staff have temporarily relocated to the New Cross branch. Repairs expected to take 2 months.

Tiddles The new Upland Road school street runs from the junction with Dunstans Road to the junction with Goodrich Road. It also includes the short part of Goodrich Road between Upland Road and Dunstans Road. Tomskip I used 0800 138 9081 then option 3 The first person I spoke to didn't know anything about it but when I rang a second time the person I spoke to had to download something to give me access to it. It has been planned for ages and was supposed to start today but there are no signposts up yet. There is another separate school street which covers Etherow street and Friern Road between Goodrich Road and Lordship Lane.

Thanks both of you. I have also been having the same problem. I emailed the named person on the letter, with no response. I also tried phoning and was transferred to another number which cut me off. I hope they extend the deadline for applying as there are likely to be many people without a permit by the deadline for applying.

They were a garage before Dell Autos took over.

We used Oriental Star regularly. We were also disappointed when they closed and we haven't yet found anywhere as good.. The shop is too small to operate as an eat in cafe which is probably why sweet dreams didn't last long.

Poundland East Dulwich soon to be replaced by Tesco Express
se22 replied to satsuma's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There is a notice on the window. Work to create the Tesco metro started 3rd December. Contract time 66 days. A worker was removing the flyposted posters when I passed by. It's a complete shell inside at the moment. -
That's the one.

Has anyone else noticed the new King Charles 3 Post box in East Dulwich? Let's see who spots it first!

The regulator has approved 2nd class deliveries on alternate days, excluding Saturdays. So Monday, Wednesday and Friday on week 1. Tuesday and Thursday on week 2. Don't know when it starts but in theory it will be better than the current haphazard service. Earlier this week I received bills and other items which had been in the post for 2 weeks. Definitely not the fault of the posties.

Not another one! -
Driving a car with a full tank of petrol adds to the weight which causes it to use slightly more petrol! Also most new cars are no longer supplied with a spare wheel, partly to reduce weight and petrol consumption.

When I had a VW I used Peter Norris for many years. They are a specialist VW garage but not a main dealer. They are in Clapham near Brixton. 1 Ellerslie Square.

Can anybody recommend a good local plant nursery or garden centre?
se22 replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I happened to be at the secret garden today. They were very busy due to the bank Holiday. There was an excellent selection of plants and the staff were very helpful and friendly. -
Fortunately it's school holidays. Depending what time of day it happened there could have been lots of children around.

Can You Help? - Dalek found in East Dulwich 1973
se22 replied to RichardB's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
They used to allow local residents to collect horse manure for their gardens. There was plenty of it. -
They used to be taken together, but the food waste and the garden waste now have to be kept separate so are collected by different teams.

Agreed. Shop workers would have to waste time turning all the items the right way round.

Dog licenses were abolished in 1987. Before Britain changed to decimal currency they cost 7 shillings and 6 pence which became 37p. They were scrapped as they were unenforceable and cost more to collect than they raised.
