  1. Good luck reporting it to the police . They wont do anything even if you have videos .
  2. TFL dont like people who live in south london crossing the river
  3. Wagamama went downhill a long time ago when it was sold off to a private equity firm which means lower standards and bigger profits
  4. Burglars dont seem to care if you are in or not . The fact that it carries a higher sentence does not deter them . Best thing . A dog
  5. Take care .'an unused corner' of Peckham Rye Common . Does that mean it is currently part of the common ? Although all this sounds like a great idea you are suggesting buildings on public land . Where will this end ? The council may decide that yes you can have it but you have to also build some luxury flats thus giving them the green light to sell publicly owned green spaces to developers. Councils have been doing this for the past few years but they must not be allowed to sell off our parks .
  6. Does anyone know of a good Podiatrist / Chiropodist in the area . Many thanks
  7. Yep all sounds like social cleansing. As soon as the east london set arrive the area is finished. God help all those renters who will be having to move out to Jaywick sands !
  8. I can recommend Yam Studios. They did a house for a very good friend who had a similar brief to yours. They have a very professional approach are delightful to work with. The house was really lovely when finished and a real transformation. My friend was delighted and has since recommended them to others who were equally happy.
  9. So sorry to hear that some people have been inconvenienced over a MAJOR incident where a bus driver had a heart attack , 6 people hurt , a mains gas pipe cracked and shop fronts demolished ... for gods sakes its wasn't done deliberately it was an accident. They boarded up the shops very quickly and got the traffic moving as soon as they could. The timescale for doing this is based on public safety and not people getting to work.
  10. The statement "no amount of research will change my mind on this" comes across as "I don't care what the facts are, I have my dogma."] I really object to your patronising and aggressive manner . How dare you interpret my words according to your narrow minded attitude. The last time I checked we lived in a democracy and we are all entitled to live our lives as we see fit. To suggest that I do not realize that everything contains chemicals only illustrates your superior attitude. I have done plenty of research on this subject unlike you who seem to be getting your information from the Daily Mail. I do my best and try to avoid as much ingestion of chemicals as possible - and yes- I do know the bad ones thank you very much.
  11. I have been eating organic food for near on 40 years now. I used to cycle to farms outside London as a teenager as not much was available in the shops. Eating organic is a personal choice - you do your research and you make a decision . Anyone who eats it because it is fashionable is always going to be fickle on this subject, and the press are forever trying to divide people in this country with issues such as this. I am not fanatical about organic food but do have a major concern over large food producers who have profits rather than our health as their main concern. For me it has always been about the chemicals - not so much about taste or nutritional value and I fail to understand why this is always the issue when this research is conducted. Its not rocket science to understand you will be healthier WITHOUT the chemicals. If the producer is good then it will always be fresh and THAT is the key to taste and nutritional value. Organic food brought in from overseas will never pass the taste and nutrition tests. There are also many non organic producers who produce very good quality food. I buy my food from producers I trust , sometimes it does cost a bit more but that is my decision and no amount of research will change my mind on this.
  12. Hi Im a new member. I dropped into the gym in Lordship Lane yesterday and when trying to find information about it this site came up. I had to join in as some you are being really negative and obviously wont be happy unless this site is a pound shop when you could get things REALLY CHEAP. If you have bad back pain and all the associated symptoms this place could be a lifeline. I have spent a lifetime going to gyms and classes where the staff are more often that not unqualified to deal with back problems and if they are don't have the time to give indepth support. Yes the gym is expensive but can you put a price on your health and this is a family run business which needs your support. By that I do not mean you have to join but at least dont keep trying to shoot them down. Those private/ council ones are only cheaper because we pay towards them out of our council tax and quite frankly they are crap in every way. You get what you pay for in life. I had a really good feeling for the place and that it was very professional and serious about health whilst offering something that does not exist on this level elsewhere in the area. Paying a bit more also means that you are serious about your health and will find the money somehow. This place is not for everyone but it offers a valuable service. No doubt they could have lowered their prices and made it more popularist but then it would be like every other place. So lets be positive .
