Do you really think Anelka or Henry would have thought twice about gaining an advantage if someone had been banned for two games, sorry I don't think so. The reward for getting away with it far outweigh the disadvantage of being caught. And why are we starting with Eduardo?? This crap has being going on at all clubs, at all levels for years, and it's not just "johnny foreigner" who's guilty, eh messrs Gerrard, Rooney, A Cole?

Please correct if I'm wrong. You obviously like the "song" I hate it.

My opinion, like yours, is as valid as the next mans/womans. I detest the song.

  15. Are we still going on about this god awful song??? Aren't there better, much better, songs than this to have a thread dedicated to?

By the same token do yo expect the hundreds of other players who've denied teams progression in cup competitions or stolen points by such behaviour to hang their heads in shame. Lets take the example of Rooney who clearly cheated against us to gain a penalty against Sol Campbell when we were on a possible 50 game unbeaten run, or would your Manc roots prevent from asking him to show contrition?
  19. It's very naive of anyone to honestly think ANY player of any race, colour or creed would own up in such circumstances. Unless football becomes a sport again and not a huge money making business, I'm afraid I have little hope of Football ever being rid of dishonest behaviour.

  21. It's all about consistency. Yes young kids should be taught to be honest, but unfortunaetly this isn't always the case. I've involved with youth football for the best part of 12 years, and while it is true that many youth team manager will try to instill the fair play ethic in to their teams, their are just as many who want their kids to win at all costs. This includes cheating, aggressive and foul play. Regrettably this is not always picked up and addressed by the referee who quite frankly has a thankless task. The higher the level of football the greater the desire to win at all costs, because of the huge financial rewards. I don't like it at all and don't condone it. I would venture to suggest that all the teams we support have been conned and cvheated out of result at some point, so I don't think any of us can claim a monopoly on righteous indignation. I would love to see all forms of cheating, gamesmanship, call it what you will, disappear completely. But I have no real solution to offer.

You and silly bollocks Red DEvil must be close friends you numbnuts. How does an injury equate to being weak? So Gerrard & Torres must be softer than poo after a night out on the piss and good vindaloo to follow. Just stick to the shortcomings of your sad team old chap and we'll get along just fine, alternatively keep spouting bollocks and you'll get the same responses.

Regardless of what he did, there is no need for such name calling. I wonder what the reaction would have been if a Irish palyer had committed this and the press and media had taken to name stereotypical name calling. The media banged on last night about how Zidane's stock had fallen when he headbutted Matterazzi, not in my eyes. If he had called me the names he called Zidane, he would have got a lot worse. In the same way this guy stated that Henry's stock should also fall, well sorry, not for me. There are palyers out there who have committed far greater crimes, Roy Keane purposely breaking an opponents leg and admitting to it is a far more heinous crime in my eyes. Unlucky Ireland, but you are not the only side to have lost amatch as a result of such incidents. Remember Chavski v Barca last year?
