  1. It’s that time of year again. Have you made a new year’s resolution to get out more, make friends locally and have a great time? You should join a choir! Tongue & Groove are an award winning, amateur, no audition choir. We are based in East Dulwich (rehearsing above The Palmerston on Tuesday nights) and we are looking for new lower voice singers (Tenor, Bass and Baritone parts), to join us from 10th January. We had a great 2022, starting the year as winners of a local community choir festival and ending it by singing live on BBC Radio London. We have big plans for 2023!   2. Hello fellow East Dulwich Residents. Tongue & Groove Choir are a local amateur choir. We have managed to make it through the lockdowns and are returning to in-person rehearsals on 7th September. We rehearse above The Palmerston on Lordship Lane, and we would love to meet some potential new members. THAT COULD BE YOU! Our members have varying levels of previous experience but you do not need to have sung before to join and there is no audition.   3. Is your new year resolve already slipping? We can help you out. Joining a choir can tick two or three things off you New Years Resolution list. We are Tongue & Groove, an amateur choir based at The Palmerston on Lordship Lane. It is our first rehearsal of 2020 on Tuesday 7th January and you are invited to a free taster evening to see if you like us. We are a no audition choir, so you won?t be put on the spot. All we ask is that you have sung somewhere in the past, for many of us this was at school, a few years ago now ?. We have been going for just over two years and are gaining a reputation as a confident and entertaining choir who do not hide behind music folders.   6. Celebrating its tenth year at the festival with a trio of London choirs to entertain you with their own unique performance styles. The evening is hosted by a new amateur performance choir based in the heart of East Dulwich, Tongue & Groove made their successful debut at the festival last year and come to you fresh from competing at the Manchester Amateur Choral Competition. Formed from local enthusiastic amateurs, you have probably met them shopping on Lordship Lane or waiting for the 185 bus and not realised they had hidden talents www.tongueandgroove.london Our second choir, The Pop-Up Choir were formed in 2009 and based in Kennington. They are a 25-piece a cappella rabble specialising in unforgettable arrangements of high-energy crowd pleasers, from pop and indie classics to spine-tingling soul. www.thepopupchoir.com Headlining the night are Alle Choir London, a vibrant group of Polish singers bringing Jazz with Pzazz to London.   7. Our friends at Sponge Mix Presents (a group of local friends who like to have a good time) are arranging a club night for those identifying as over 40 on Saturday 6th April in East Dulwich. An evening on Electronic Alternate 80's, 70's, 90's and all the rest. No need to brave the bus or Uber to get into town, just pop along to East Dulwich Grove for a night of songs you always loved to dance to (and the bar prices are good as well).   8. Would you like to sing at the Dulwich Festival in May this year? We are Tongue and Groove, a performance choir made up of local amateurs. We are hosting the 10th annual contemporary choral night for the festival along with two other groups, (to be announced). If you would like to take part in the festival as a member of Tongue & Groove you are invited to register for a free place at a taster rehearsal on Tuesday 8th January in East Dulwich. ABOUT YOU: You should have some experience of singing and be comfortable performing (or willing to give it a good go!), there is no audition. You need to be available to attend a rehearsal for two hours a week on Tuesday evenings and be free for the performance date, which is Friday 17th May.   12. We are Tongue & Groove. A new amateur performance choir based in East Dulwich. We wanted to find out what it would be like to team a group of talented amateur singers with a professional Theatrical Musical Director, and its going quite well. We are looking for locals who have sung before and have decided that they really miss it and want to give it another go. We have been together for just under a year and had our debut at the Dulwich Festival in March, since then we have performed over south London, culminating in a performance at the Festival Hall for the Southbank's Chorus Festival in July. We have big plans for the next year and are looking for a few additional members to joins our ranks of singers who enjoy getting together, singing together and drinking together.   13. Hello Everyone. We are Tongue & Groove, a new local choir. We have just finished out first year and what better way to celebrate than singing at The Southbank Centre as part of their Chorus Weekend. We are performing at 1:45 on Saturday 28th July on the Mandela Statue stage (see attached map) It would be great to have some support from locals so, if you are looking for things to do tomorrow (there will be no thunderstorms, we promise), they come along to Chorus.
