  1. Hi,

I have just used AFE Plumbing Services and I have to say I'm delighted to have found them.

We used to live in East Dulwich until a few years ago having relocated, but we rent out our flat.

Over the years the odd thing has happened and I just haven't found a reliable plumber. I found Aria via the forum so gave him a go. All our dealings have been over the phone. I explained what was required, having been notified of a leak in the bathroom. He went around having liaised with my tenant and we made a plan. Within a few days all works were complete to a high standard according to my tenant. Tiles removed, new pipework undertaken and a new shower installed. He and his team left the flat tidy each day after finishing so as to cause minimum disruption to my tenant.

I will certainly use Aria in the future.

    Thanks,

    Matt

  2. Hi there

    Has anyone seen Peter Rabbit?

Last seen at the Dulwich Leisure Centre today between 12-1. I walked from there to Barry Road and he was missing by then. I have walked the road but haven't spotted him....:(

He is small and soft and blue and beige and and is very cute indeed. If you fine him could you please PM me as I have a very teary toddler who is missing him.

    thanks

  3. Hi,

I have had 2x diabetic cats, one of which is still going and aside from the hassle of having to give the injection at regular 12hr intervals there's no difference. I'm sure your vet will advise accordingly, but if your cat does have a fit then honey on a teaspoon does the trick. Get as much down her as possible and then stand back and watch her spring back to life.

We inject when we've put some wet food down and she doesn't even feel it. We have a couple of friends who are also trained, so in the event of holidays etc someone can step in.

    Bow Wow Lisa is brilliant.

    Good luck.

  4. Hi,

We have a place on Whitsand Bay so would highly recommend the beach there. When the tide goes out it's vast and lovely for a toddler to roam. A bit of a walk down, but worth it. Probably 20 mins from Looe. West of Looe (about 5 or 10 mins) there is Talland Bay. It's a gorgeous little cove with a great cafe. The beach is slightly rocky but perfect for kids. Further along you have Polperro and if you're feeling fit the walk between Talland Bay and Polperro is well worth doing.

As Hoppermum says, the Fowey estuary is very picturesque. Park up in Lerryn and walk to St Winnow or vice versa. A beautiful wooded walk. And the ferry from Boddinick to Fowey is fun.

    Enjoy,

  5. Hi,

If you get stuck, we have a cabin on the cliffs at Whitsand Bay. It's a stunning location on one of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall, but there are steps down onto the beach. It's not too hard work, but if you're slightly fit you'd be fine and you can be on the beach from the cabin in 10 mins. We have lots of families who stay throughout the year and we have a 4 year old and a 3 month year old.

There is a lovely little cafe about 50 yards away and a great restaurant about a 10 min walk away.

We have a couple of weeks left in August.

You can fine pictures etc here....

  6. Hi,

I am looking at purchasing a Vtech Storio for our 3 year old for Christmas. Has anyone any experience of them? I've heard they are very good if used occasionally and not used to replace books completely. She currently has no electronic gadgets and I don't really have a problem with her having one......

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

    Cheers,

  7. To the guy and driver of the new black BMW who was in the Goose Green playground at around 0945 this morning with his mate and their kids, your wife and children must be so proud of you. Stubbing your fag out on the new climbing frame while carrying your kid under your other arm. Nice. Ordinarily I'd have said something but being Easter Sunday I thought I'd let it go.

    Happy Easter.

  8. And let's remember, it's not all about LL.

There are other local areas to be considered.

I assume local traders will be offered the chance to display their wares.....

    Sounds great.

  9. Hi,

Further to my previous post, we still have some availability left this month. Weirdly October is almost booked out.

Seems a shame as Sept is usually fantastic down there. I'd be there myself if it wasn't for work.

    Cheers,

  11. Hi,

We have just had a cancellation for 7-14/8 at our cabin on Whitsand Bay in Cornwall. Knowing how booked out other places are at this time of the year, I expect it to go very quickly. I thought I'd offer it out on the forum before advertising it as we've had a lot of ED residents staying there over the past few years.

  12. Hi,

We've just had a cancellation for Easter week at our cabin on Whitsand Bay. If anyone is interested please let me know. I'll hold off advertising it for a couple of days just in case. It is one of the most popular weeks of the year.

Please see my original posting about the cabin below....

    Hi,

Once again, spring is on it's way and we are have already started taking bookings for our cabin "Shamrock". As the continuing trend seems to be holidaying at home and if you're thinking of staying put yourself this year then please take a look at our website.

It's perfect for romantic breaks, small family holidays or even just a break from everyday life. Whitsand Bay is a stunning part of coastline located in the relatively undiscovered SE corner of Cornwall on the Rame Peninsula. During summer months you can often have the beach to pretty much yourself and maybe just a handful of others.

There are beautiful coastal walks to be had locally and we therefore welcome well behaved dogs.

There is a log burning stove in there to keep you nice and cosy on cold winter nights. As we go down there from East Dulwich ourselves as often as we can we've tried to make it as homely as possible.

There's even a beach cafe located about 100 yards away for a traditional breakfast or lunch in case you're feeling particularly lazy! And a wonderful restaurant can be found just a 10 minute stroll along the coast road......

If you want any further info please call or PM me.

  13. I was talking about this subject this morning with a neighbour. We are both absolutely disgusted with the amount of dog poo on our road (Silvester). Any dog owners who allow their dog to mess without clearing it up should be ashamed of themselves. I have a 14 month old who has just started walking. I thought it would be nice for her to have her first walk on the pavement yesterday and she stepped in some outside our house. Lovely. Thanks for the memory! I'm sure it's not all dog mess but must also be the result of foxes but I would support any action taken against irresponsible dog owners. Good call TonyQuinn.
  14. Hi Cate,

Sorry about the delay in responding.

Shamrock is about a mile and a half from the village of Millbrook. It's a lovely walk down a couple of leafy lanes, although the climb back can be rather tiring!

You wouldn't a 4x4 at all. You park at the top on the coast road and then walk down to the cabin.

    cheers,

    Matt

  15. ps.....I meant to say Valentines Day w/e has been booked......
