  1. Fireworks for a ship in Greenwich apparently
  2. We were playing rounders at the south end of the rye, and a couple of them circled us... Bonkers
  3. Hi, My wife and I were walking down Brockley Way, from Brockley Mews/Honor Oak and saw a car matching your description. This was last night at approximately 7:30 PM It was a silver mercedes, with all of the windows smashed, the interior ripped up, and the registration plates stolen. I thought to report it to the police, but my phone only had 5% power and would have died... By the time i returned home, I had forgotten about it (and had previously thought that someone who lived closer to that area may have reported it). I did not get a very close look at the car, and dont know the difference between one Merc and another, but it was definately a mercedes. jeremy
  4. I found this video on Youtube about lordship lane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojLoDjbxjg8
  5. In Response to : (Have you noticed how "south Nunhead" is gradually being absorbed into SE22, courtesy of this Forum. One day they will just change the postcode and no one will notice). We moved from East Dulwich (Bary Road) last year where we were renting, to a house we could afford to buy in Nunhead because we dont make zillions of pounds... but to make us feel at home, the council (who i think are responsible for putting the street signs up with the post code on them) have put an SE22 on our stree sign for Sartor Road, which is right in the middle of SE15 3BB... so does this mean that we didnt escape ED after all?
  6. OK, so we moved to ED from the States 3 years ago, and absolutely loved it. But in our 3 years here (and our friends' 10 years here especially) we have seen this place change for... well, for the Yuppier. We do love the area and have a few really good friends here, but the pubs have all gone gastro (i mean look what they just did to the clockhouse!!!!), and the high street prices are beginning to reflect the hyped up real-estate prices.... and so, when we started out search for a place to buy, we were forced to widen our scope to the dreaded Nunhead. And, well, we have fallen in love with it. It is pretty chill, and down to earth. There are the beautiful spots, but also some of the less pretty spots that remind us that we still live in London. And there are proper pubs here, and Gastro Pubs too if you want them. There is the Restaurant, a nice hidden gem. And we are just as far from Peckham Rye now as we were in ED, so transport links are just fine... plus the Tube will be coming closer to here than to ED very soon! Anyway, it is a short 5 min bicycle ride to Lordship lane for shopping if we need it, or a nice walk through a beautiful cemetery to Nunhead's high street. Move here, and you won't regret it. And seriously Fred, "Make me feel better"? I mean, if you want to stay in ED, then get a better paying job, otherwise, get your priorities straight. Nunhead is a great place.
