  1. Sun, 18/03/2018 - 11:00am - 4:00pm Free open day celebrating toads, amphibians and ponds! Everywhere you look at the Centre for Wildlife Gardening you will find toads. Toad Day is our day to celebrate all their amphibian wonder. Throughout the day we will have toad, pond and amphibian related activities for all the family including pond dipping, quizzes, crafts and trails. We'd love to see you here - just drop in and enjoy the toads!
  2. The Centre for Wildlife Gardening (28 Marsden Rd, SE15 4EE) is holding its annual Tree Day in partnership with the Great North Wood project. This year we'll have traditional green-wood carving and turning demonstrations and the opportunity for you to help in making beautiful wooden benches for our new Great North Wood section at the centre. Free activity. Drop in anytime between 11.00am-4.00pm to join in the woodcraft. Join us too for free drop in activities between 11.00-4.00pm of tree walks, woodcraft jewellery and Christmas decoration making. Suitable for all ages. Spoon carving You can make your own spoon from wood harvested from the Great North Wood. The workshop costs ?20 per person and is from 11.00am-3:30pm. All tools will be provided, plus tea and coffee. No experience necessary. Suitable for ages 14+. Booking essential. Pencil whittling Make your very own pencil with wood from the Great North Wood. The session costs ?5 and are from 11.00am-12.00pm or 2:00pm-3:00pm. Suitable for ages 7-14 years. Booking essential. There will also be the opportunity for tea and cake whilst enjoying the music of a local folk band. We hope to see you there!
