  1. Join us for a hands-on session where will you will get stuck into making a jar of Korean kimchi. Kimchi, a staple in Korean cuisine, is a traditional side dish made from salted and fermented Chinese leaf cabbage with a spicy sauce.


    You will be given full instructions on how to ferment this jar of spicy goodness at home. It will be ready just in time to serve with the Christmas turkey!


    Refreshments on arrival. Tea or coffee and a toasted open sandwich with kimchi, avocado and houmous (vegan, contains gluten).

    All profits from this workshop go to Nunhead-based charity Westminster House Youth Club (WHYC). WHYC serves a diverse and vibrant community of young people in Nunhead and provides purposeful activities, both recreational and educational for young people aged 8-18.

Come along to Captured on the Rye in East Dulwich to find out more about Korean Kimchi, a spicy, fermented cabbage that is gaining huge popularity in the U.K. Because Kimchi is a fermented food, it contains a lot of healthy probiotics, which have been found to improve immunity, control inflammation, and help maintain a healthy digestive system.


    You will make enough kimchi to fill a 1-litre Kilner jar to take home and ferment in this low-cost workshop.

  5. Join us for a bath-bomb making workshop in East Dulwich. Cocktail provided on arrival.


    Friday 16th March @ 7pm


    Everyone will take home two bath bombs in gift packaging.


    We will create a white/lilac flower-shaped bath bomb and a grey/black heart shaped bath bomb.

Because Kimchi is a fermented food, it contains a lot of healthy probiotics, which have been found to improve immunity, control inflammation, and help maintain a healthy digestive system.


    We will have plenty of recycled, sterilised jars in assorted sizes available but do feel free to bring your own clean jars along so you can take more Kimchi home!

  8. Join us on Tuesday 23 February at Captured on the Rye in East Dulwich. Come along and learn about the origin of bitters - from ancient medicinal potions to modern day cocktail staples!


    We'll kick off with a cocktail and then take you through the process of making your own bitters, with a few flavours to try along the way! Then choose your own flavour combination and make a bottle to take home.


    A few nibbles and a glass of bubbly will be provided as well, to keep us refreshed along the way!
