Mason and Green are fab - reliable, well priced and turn up when they say they will, with nice cars etc. 020 7924 9177. Www.masonandgreen.co.uk. We recently used them for a Gatwick run pre Xmas. Recommended. Based in Herne Hill and work well locally and recommended elsewhere on EDF too :-)

Also a big recommendation for Dave Reilly from Plastercare who came to my house in SE22 at short notice and made a free inspected and diagnosed cause of 2 isolated patches of damp and made recommendations of how to rectify them at a realistic and reasonable cost. His work is guaranteed for 10 years too. Nice guy as well. Definitely recommended. 07932 505589

Of course! I'll PM you our address :-) -
I had a self titled 'small job man' come to do a half days work for me - boxing in an electrics meter and replacing a section of wood in our hall. He was a very nice guy and I'd recommend him to anyone who has jobs needing doing that they can't do themselves! His card says he also does tiling and kitchen and bathroom refurbs... I guess it depends what you do...just the Victorian path you'd be looking at the ?1.5-2k mark I think... -
We've just had a brick wall built, railings and new gate, plus black limestone and a Victorian path done in our small front garden in East Dulwich, and it looks fabulous, if we do say so ourselves! It was done by the team at www.anewgarden.co.uk. Main contact is Stephen on 07863 108266

Halloween - does anyone NOT let their kids trick or treat?
eedee replied to newcomer's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We do early evening on the 31st with our 3 yr old and 8 yr old and 3 friends each. We buy some fun Halloween craft things to do first then only go up and down our own street, only knocking at houses with pumpkins... I also post a note the day before asking 3 nice neighbours whether we can call at 6pm and offering to give them sweets to hand out, so we are assured of at least 3 or 4 positive welcomes :-). Personally on that basis it's a fun half an hour for all and then the condition is that only around 5 sweets are eaten on the night - the rest are saved for another day. Everyone on our road seems to enjoy going up and down and if we've taken away the pumpkin at bedtime people don't call any more... Happy Halloween to all, and may everyone's nights run as they personally wish... -
Thanks camps and everyone else who took the time to comment - now I feel somewhat reassured and I hope we get the house we have our heart set on. Thank you :-)

Forgot to add 0208-316-1509 or 0207-535-6012 in case that's helpful.

Thanks so much for responding purplebanana! If you are a door number above 230 (or thereabouts) and near the Etherow Rd junction that's the area I was asking about. The school traffic for Goodrich and St Anthony's isn't a problem - as you say it's just at pick up/drop off times. I agree the houses and gardens are fab - I was keen to hear from locals at that end whether speedy cars, noisy parties or dogs barking endlessly were major issues or just occasional issues! The road seems really nice so fingers crossed :-). Thanks for taking the time to reply :-)

Thanks v much Norfolk Villas. Are you near the Goodrich junction part? Is that the middle? I appreciate your comments, many thanks.
