Can anyone recommend a good local tailor/seamstress to do some clothing alterations? Mostly simple trouser turn-ups etc, but I want someone to do a better job than I would! Thanks.

Another strong recommendation for Dulwich Eco Gardening! Saied has done a complete overhaul of our garden and it looks great. Lockdown postponed the work but even in the very hot weather this summer, Saied and his team worked tirelessly to trim trees; clear rubble, weeds and plants unsuitable for our small children; prepare soil and beds; lay new turf; and fill our garden with beautiful flowers and veg. We're so happy with the results, and we're looking forward to continuing our relationship with Saied as we move through the seasons. His ever-patient advice has been invaluable to a pair of gardening novices.

Who out there would do a really beautiful job of building some shelving for books, music and CDs into the alcoves in our living room?

Hi all. I'd like to warn you off Church Street Cars for taxi rides involving children. We recently used them for an airport transfer and had booked the correct car seat for our toddler (in a detailed conversation over the phone). The driver arrived late, without the car seat, saying that we needed to drive to the office to collect it on our way to the airport, which meant about 15 minutes of driving through rush hour traffic with our child unsecured in the back of the car. When we got to the office, the first seat offered was so rickety as to be completely unsafe; the second was marginally better but only secure when padded out with coats. We felt that our child was put in danger by this taxi company.
