  1. 3 reasons why your home could be looking bland … and QUICK FIXES for you over the FESTIVE period!🎄🍾💫 A POP OF FUN FOR THE NEW YEAR! To bring some sparkle to your day, one of my favourite tips is adding some colour in your home somewhere unexpected. Inside wardrobes or drawers works so well and gives you that little energy pop every day. Yesss!! Painting is obviously quicker and easier, but a wallpaper can look fab too!! Go for something you love but feel nervous about using in a larger area. HAVE A LOT OF YOUR FURNITURE PIECES ENDED UP BEING A SIMILAR HEIGHT? Quite often a dining table, the back of a sofa and armchair can all end up similar heights. Make sure that there is variation to avoid monotony and complete blah. Floor lamps are a great way to help with this. This applies to cushion sizes TOO. Make sure you use a variation of size and scale to bring interest and life to your home! Have a shuffle around … and mix it up!! 🔥 OK … AND ONE FOR THE KIDDIES … If you’re anything like me with all the new present arrival at Christmas, it’s time to do some much delayed sorting out in the kids’ rooms over this break. 🤪 As you’ll be in their room anyway, think about a fun upgrade for the New Year. Top tip for designing rooms for the little ones … get down on your knees. See it from their height, see it from their hearts! ❤️ Don’t just hang your gorgeous artwork up high out of their eyeline. Make sure there’s excitement and enticement at their level too. Create a kiddy wonderland!! 💫💫 I hope you’re having a GLORIOUS break. I’m going all in on only doing things I love. If it doesn’t make my heart sing it just isn’t happening!! ✨ All the best! Lynlea xx

  12. Hi Amy, So lovely to hear from you! I hope you and the kids are doing well in your homeschooling world. Fun times indeed. I would absolutely love to have you on my course. Brilliant! I'll email you for a catch up. Take care lovely. Lynlea
  13. Hi Liv, Aww that's lovely to hear. Kate is so lovely and I'm glad you like her new Living Room! It was actually working on projects like hers (that we did mainly remotely over Lockdown) that really made me realise how much can be achieved remotely and via Zoom...and got me thinking about putting together this course to help more people improve their homes - especially with all this madness going in and with us all at home! Coincidentally I was speaking to a friend last night who has a daughter doing A levels, who is also interested in Interior Design, who asked about the course for her. I think it would be great for her, and for your daughter. It would teach them lots of skills and give them a real feel for whether this is the right direction for them - possibly designing their bedrooms as they go? All for helping the new generation of fab interior designers along! Did you watch the link for my video about the course on my Instagram? Here again just in case you missed it. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKANCeNnrVq/ It might help with any queries...but yes absolutely up for a chat if you'd like. Feel free to PM me. All the best and look forward to hearing from you. Lynlea
  14. Hello lovely people! Are we still allowed to say Happy New Year!?! I?m very excited to be launching an online interior design course to help people define and create their own home vibe?all with the support of me as their ?Right Hand Interior Designer?. I have been an interior designer for many years and have previously worked on luxury hotels and international properties. I now run my own business designing homes local to us in ED which I love. This forum has been very kind to me and I am very lucky that I've never been more busy. Our homes of course have become even more important through the last year! As much as I adore designing beautiful homes, I?ve realised over this last crazy year that I also want to share my experience and tips with as many people as possible to help them improve their homes?and the way they feel and live. We want to be surrounded by joy in our homes. By creating beautiful spaces, and purging ourselves of what doesn?t work for us anymore, we are rewarded with a new energy of happiness and wellbeing....and don't we all need a bit of that! To support you with this, I have created a new online course ?Create your Home Vibe? which I?m super excited about! The idea being that while you get to enjoy the course (with lots of fab content and support!) at a reduced initial rate, and I get to discover what you want to learn more about. We will concentrate on designing one room of your choice, other than a bathroom and kitchen. Further details are given in the video link I will add below, but a quick overview below of the weekly workshops- Week One - Let?s get planning Week Two - Discover your style and create your own mood boards Week Three - Sourcing your gorgeous pieces (which will focus on upholstery, casegoods and lighting) Week Four - Colour Scheme (you will also learn more about how to design curtains, blinds and cushions) Week Five - Paint colours and Flooring! Week Six - The Final Touches (where we will focus on artwork, mirrors, accessories and styling) I would love you to join me on my New Year New Adventure. I?m looking to start this initial run late February/March. Please comment or PM me if you?re interested or have any queries. There is a link below to a video on my Instagram page about the course. You can of course comment or DM me over there too. Support most welcome my local lovelies. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKANCeNnrVq/ Best wishes to you all! Lynlea xx PS You can find reviews about me too on the forum - just search under Lynlea West and make sure you add 'all dates' for more. https://www.lynleaweststudio.com/ @lynleawest
  15. Wow. Thanks you so much for taking the time to write this Lisa - especially as I know you are still so busy with work, and a the end of your build! So sweet of you. It really has been such a pleasure working with you and helping you through your various building challenges. It's so lovely to hear from a Client how much it helps you that I work on an hourly rate. Glad to hear too that you've managed to retain your hair through the experience 😉 Now I just can't wait until we get through all this other drama, and I can bring around a bottle of something so we can have a little celebratory drink in your fab new home! Take care, and thank you again.
  16. As a local interior designer I love using and promoting some of our great local businesses as much as possible. I?ve had a few Clients who, as well as wanting their interiors designed, needed help decluttering their homes in preparation. Step up the lovely Claire Hewitt from Kahlm Home, who has worked alongside some of my Clients, and myself, to help them unpack, clear and refine their belongings. She?s very skilled at creating successful storage solutions. She works with people wading through their clutter to help define what is really necessary in their lives. She?s very lovely and just seems to get people and understand what is important to them. She also charges by the hour so the service is very flexible. Anyway I was thinking with the New Year coming up, it might be a great time for some detoxing of houses. Have a look at her Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/kahlmhome/ Her number is 07876 397633.
