  1. Another big shout out for Janda Diner. We went there yday and it was excellent. And lovely owners/staff too. As mentioned above, 20% off in Feb but good value anyway and byob with a small fee for corkage.
  2. Thanks Ian- incredibly useful :) I'll contact my bank to see if they can help as per your suggestion.
  3. Hi, I think you receive a letter explaining how you can formally challenge a PCN if initial challenge with council is rejected. It's called a Notice To Owner form I believe. I'm also complaining to my councillors but doubt they'll do anything...
  4. Exactly the same happened to me Ruffler. Renewed in plenty of time and got an email confirmation saying it was successful but got three parking tickets within a week (I don't use my car much). Parking team has rejected my initial complaint (without any good reason) so am taking it further...
  5. Couple of places near East Dulwich station that opened quite recently. They need our support :) - Ciao at grove cafe: opened a few months ago as an Italian cafe/restaurant. The place doesn?t look very different to previous cafe but it?s changed hands recently. The food is excellent and they?ve started doing evening meals too. Fresh pasta, homemade pizza, great produce, lovely owners. Fabio and Lewis are brilliant people. - Marvellous Greens and Beans: excellent produce, also lovely owners and they deliver fruit/veg boxes too.
  6. Thank you very much Jacqui, really appreciate it.
  7. I realise that. My car is old and has loads of mould in on the seats (as one of the windows doesn't close properly). My wife is 8 months pregnant and I'd like to try and make sure it was safe for our baby before the baby arrives as I'll need to drive them home from hospital. I would do it myself but I was hoping it could be done better with someone who knows what they were doing and has proper equipment. There are builders and cleaners allowed in people's houses so thought it might be allowed (obviously i'd expect/hope it was given an airing for a while before and after anyone started cleaning).
  8. Hi, Does any one know if car washes are open at the moment? I tried the one near the big Sainsbury's but they're closed. Need to clean the inside as well as outside of the car. If anyone knows of any good ones that are open please let me know :)
  9. This will explain PCR cycles much better than I can (from an actual expert): But I guess you've got all your info from David Icke's son And before you post that publication from WHO (as all the other covid deniers seem to be doing) regarding PCR tests- that does not say anything that verifies your claims about the PCR cycles used at King's. That's me done on this topic.
  10. @Robbie You're not 'spreading awareness', you're misrepresenting or misunderstanding information. If you had any credentials to verify people should listen to you about something like this then fair enough but I don't think you should be posting misleading information about PCR tests when a) you're not qualified to do so b) you don't understand how they work. I personally also find it pretty depressing that you're bringing up the test accuracy of PCR tests at King's while just down the road from you there are nurses, doctors etc working their arses off trying to save people's lives. One of the reason's we're in such a dire position is because people have been spreading false information such as tests being inaccurate or even covid being a hoax. 1,800 registered deaths were recorded today- is that down to PCR testing cycles? Even after all the verifiable information about full hospitals and excess deaths do you really think that we're in this position due to false positives? Regarding your original PCR test claims, you do realise there are loads of different PCR tests for covid? Why don't you bother to actually look at the specific tests that you originally linked? The downloadable info is on their website (Altona Real Star, Cepheid GenExpert). You've taken two figures from two different documents to make your point. PCR tests aren't perfect but your claims above are misleading. Even the latest link you posted it says the following "Ct values cannot be directly compared between assays of different types due to variation in the sensitivity (limit of detection), chemistry of reagents, gene targets, cycle parameters, analytical interpretive methods, sample preparation and extraction techniques." Anyway, I wish your family well- hopefully lockdown will end very soon for all of us! :)
  11. Are you an expert in this field? If you're worried about King's using an inaccurate testing process then I think it's best to bring it up with them. King's is going through a really difficult time with the number of patients in ICU at the moment so I think questioning their testing processes on here is a bit unfair. I've had a quick look at the PCR tests they use and (although I'm no expert) it appears they are using the recommended number of cycles for the tests they are using.
  12. My 72 year old mum had her first jab y'day at Guy's. She called last week (she said she tried over 100 times). It might be they've bumped the age up since then. I expect if they have changed the age it will be only be temporary so probably worth trying (if you have the time!) She was given the Pfizer vaccine and her follow up is at the end of March. As a side point, she said the team were brilliant there and it felt very safe (good social distancing, thorough cleaning of chairs etc). Good luck to any of you trying :)
  13. Hi, My sister?s bike was stolen last night outside our house (just off Copleston road). It was locked with a chain. If anyone has seen it please get in touch. Or if anyone has any good ideas to get it back... Photo attached. Ps. Please no lectures about leaving it in the road. Cheers
  14. Niko was brilliant when he came round to fix a leak from one of our toilets. Seems very experienced and fixed the problem in no time at all. Really nice and trustworthy bloke. And not too expensive either.
  15. Roger and his son were so helpful with the flea problem we inherited when we moved into our new house. They are polite, knowledgeable and fixed the problem without much trouble. Highly recommended! Thanks Roger
