  1. Too late now, but to go back on this all buses should stop on diversion thats the agreed procedure.
  2. It fairness I understand our frustations as I sent people from Canada Water to Lewisham to get to Peckham via train only to be told you sholdn't - why quick and easy route to me. zeban Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > what annoyed me so much was that on the news they > mentioned tubes and trains would be accepting bus > passes for reasonable journeys but when I got to > Peckham Rye they said they weren't- it was only > tubes which obviously I'd use if there were any > around here! 3. For the very simple reason that if information had been published last night, this morning it would be out of date as some drivers decide to work, you can't pre-plan, all you can do is update the information.

  5. No the 176 will not be operating. lpool Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 176 should be ok but not sure about any others as > tend to be run by London Central.
  6. No these routes will not operate, nor will route 12. Its routes operated by London General (Go-Ahead), Metroline and Arriva the Shires that will operate). In a nutshell the only route that should be operating is route 37. 7. What can you put. As I have already said plan on the basis of no buses and you won't go far wrong.
  8. Its really not going to be clear until Friday morning when its known home many people turn up for work. I personally would plan on the basis of no buses operating then you won't be disapointed.
  9. Start planning alternative travel arrangements now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-18461358
  10. I can imagine then everyone would complain about the congestion.
  11. Your quite right. I suspect that it was typed up quickly as the incident was happening and someone got there Groves and Road muddled. I am sure the buses went the correct way. 12. Rte's 40,176 & 185 are diverted from Lordship Lane via East Dulwich Grove - Rye Lane - (rtn via Peckham High St - Claytob Rd - Hanover Pk) - Peckham Road - Camberwell Rd LOR Rte 484 curtail to East Dulwich Sainsbury's Rte 345 - curtailed to Brixton Stockwell Pk Walk Rte's 35 & 45 are diverted s/b fromCamberwell Road via Camberwell New Road - Brixton Road - Brixton Town CentreLOR
  13. The drivers receive instructions from TfL as to the agreed diversion whatever company runs the route. I don't know the indivdual circumstances but sometimes work can finish ahead of schedule and TfL is not told, or the Response van has not had a chance to re-open the stops, for example might have been tasked to an accident. If buses are back to line of route buses would be advised by radio. I appreciate that with stops closed this can be confusing to passengers however, with limited resources until someone can attend stops will remain closed. As I say I am only using an example of what can happen. aquarius moon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What a shambles! > > People waiting at the Inverton Rd temporary bus > stop for buses that were never going to arrive, > Others, me included standing on the corner of > Stuart Rd, ready to run in whatever direction the > buses appeared > from! > > Coming back from Peckham this afternoon, I was on > a 343 directly behind a 484. 14. Indeed Bic Basher you are right the driver is only human after all.
  15. If you look at all the treads on here all it seems to be is crime in the area so my answer would be be there is nothing I like about it move out quickly like anyone has with common sense - happy new year.
  16. I am led to believe that the diversion came off this afternoon at 1300.
  17. Indeed - I think the first thing I would do its call Thames Water rather than post on the internet. Some people.
  18. A long shot but give Catford garage a call who run the P4. CATFORD (TL) 180 Bromley Road, Catford, London, SE6 2XA Tel : 020 8461 9261
  19. Just think of all the money being spent on replacing these buses - only glad that the London tax payer foots the bill and not me. 20. Here Here Ann. Whilst i think its great that buses are accessible at times people do not appreciate that prams need to be folded if buses are busy - something which many are not pre-pared or don't know how to do. I appreciate the example on the 63 the bus was empty. Years ago not folded can't get on but then I think society was more disaplined then.
  21. The problems in many locations can be bad parking preventing you pulling in properly to the kerb. Although, I appreciate this is not always the case and some drivers are clearly not as good as others. As for street furniture i.e. bins these seem to be placed sometimes in the most inconvenient places hindering bus drivers at stops. edanna Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Wheelchairs always go through the back door > because that's where the ramp comes down. 22. Nigel - the stupid name for him on here is alive and well and still working on the 185 ClareC Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Must admit I rarely use buses these days, tend to > walk everywhere within reason. 23. Goes without saying to check engineering works as most weekends the Jubilee line is down. It certainly is Monday.
