Bessemer PTA are hosting a meet up for new starters, in the school's nature garden this Saturday 11th August from 10:00 - 12:00. Come along to talk to parents already at the school and hopefully meet other new starters in your child's class or year. All families joining the school in any years this September are welcome. There will be another meet up on Saturday 1st September at the same time. Hope to see you there! Friends @ Bessemer

Hi! Bessemer Grange would love to join the initiative!? At school, we have been involved with launching the Southwark-wide anti-idling campaign, run regular play streets which close the street outside school to through traffic to allow children to play out and have a whole-school approach to encouraging active travel and ditching the car.? We have a very active cycling community and run cycling events and lessons throughout the year.? We would be very happy to share our experience of cycling initiatives as well as traffic reduction and air quality improvements. At the moment, we are working towards a school-time road closure outside the school every day to improve air quality in the playgrounds and to improve safety for children coming to and from school. The Bessemer PTA will be hosting two more new starter meet ups during the summer in the school nature garden: from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday 11th August and 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday 1st September. Do come along if you would like to meet other parents and children starting at Bessemer in September. Most people coming will probably be starting in reception, but new starters in any years are welcome to come along and meet people before the start of term.

Congratulations to everyone who has a reception place at Bessemer Grange Primary School this September. The PTA, Friends @ Bessemer are hosting a welcome picnic for new starters and families on Friday 15th June from 12:00 - 1:30 in the school nature garden. Come along to meet other families as well as the reception teachers and senior leadership team who will come over on their lunch break to say hello. If you can't make it, don't worry, we will also be organising some more opportunities to meet other families during the summer holidays. Dates will be posted here soon.

Bessemer Grange Primary School summer fair is Saturday 7th July from 12 - 3. This year for the first time we will have our lovely nature garden open as part of the fair, with free forest school-style activities and storytelling for little ones. Plus all the usual fair excitement including bouncy castle, coconut shy, hook a duck and lots of other stalls. Come along, it should be a great day.
