  1. Hi there, I am looking to rent or borrow a B flat clarinet for my 9 year old son. He is very sensible and would take very good care of it. He is all set to start with his wonderful recorder teacher who also teaches clarinet. We live just off Bellenden road, SE15. If he takes to it, we would buy one soon, but it’s a big investment without knowing how much he will enjoy it. Thank you! Elsa
  2. Hi there, Our 7 year old is keen to learn the cello, but of course, we don't know how committed she will turn out to be. We don't want to buy a cello in case she doesn't really get into it after all. She already plays the guitar and will likely carry on with this at school and we don't know if she can handle two instruments. If you happen to have a 1/2 size cello lying around gathering dust and you wouldn't mind us borrowing / renting it for a while, please send me a personal message. We live just off Bellenden rd SE15. Thanks! Elsa
  3. We are inheriting a free standing fridge freezer from my sister, so upgrading from our current Beko CFD5834APS. You can find full details of the product here: Beko CFD5834APS 149L 183x55cm Wide Freestanding Fridge Freezer With Water Dispenser Silver | Appliances Direct It boasts an A+ energy rating and lots of space. Height: 183cm Width: 54.5cm Depth: 60cm Our beko fridge freezer works fine. It was in the house when we moved in 5 years ago so I'm not sure how old it is. It is a bit worn in places (see pictures), but still does the job fine. If anyone would like to take it for free, please let us know. I suspect if we leave it in the front garden, someone will take it, but I'm worried it might get damaged in the rain before they get a chance to. We don't know exactly when the new fridge freezer will arrive, but it will be sometime on Sunday 17th of March if all goes well. I attach some pictures including the product label. We live SE15 4AL, just off Bellenden Rd. Let me know if you're interested.
  4. Hi there, I have tried sending a PM to lollol but it sounds like her mailbox may be full. We live just off Bellenden Rd (se15 4AL) and I speak french to our kids (4.5 and 2.5) - I was born in London but spoke french at home / went to the Lyc?e in South Kensington. It would be great for the kids (and me!) to have more exposure to french speaking families. Elsa
  5. I know I am very unlikely to find exactly what I am looking for, but there is no harm in spelling it out just in case someone is out there who exactly fits the bill! We are a young family (2 year old and 4 year old) in Peckham Rye (just off Bellenden Rd) looking for a cleaner to work roughly 4h/week. We are increasingly wondering what we are going to do when our son starts school in September as my husband and I struggle to get annual leave during school holidays. So ideally we would like a cleaner who really enjoys spending time with kids / can occasionally step in with childcare / in an ideal world could help out during school holidays. We have a big house with a big garden / trampoline and if this meant someone bringing their own child/children to our house during school holidays that would be totally fine. If by any chance someone felt tempted by the above and their first language was french (I speak french to the kids) it would be a dream come true, but like I said, I'm not expecting a miracle! Thanks, Elsa
  6. Andy has done a few jobs for me now. He does a very good job at short notice and is very honest and reasonably priced. He made my two year old giggle, which is not easy when you don't know her well, and he waited for me to return from the nursery run to show me the work he had done. When I got back, he had hoovered and tidied up leaving his work area very clean. He has also given me a lot of useful recommendations and some advice over the phone as well. I would highly recommend.
  7. Hi there, my nearly 4 year old is on the waiting list for lessons at st Thomas the apostle school swimming pool. A mother told me about it during a brief encounter and I put him on the list based on very little information. I would love to hear more about people?s experience of the lessons. Thanks, Elsa
  8. Hi everyone, we lost our bugaboo bee buggy board (the one with the seat) on a train 3weeks ago. It still hasn't turned up so I'm looking to buy another second hand. Send me a message if you're interested! We live in SE15
  9. Hi there, I have an old VW Golf and the RAC recently came out and restarted the battery but couldn't figure out why there seemed to be an ongoing drain on the battery. I called Peter Norris Clapham and they suggested a mobile auto electrician would be the best way forward. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks, Elsa
  10. Can anyone recommend an experienced french speaking baby sitter? We live in Peckham (SE15, off Bellenden rd). We need someone next week and all our usual suspects are away on holiday! Thanks
  11. It was Lettsom gardens. Thanks so much, Elsa
  12. Hi there, we recently moved to SE15. On our first couple of days in the area, three people alluded to a gated garden / wood nearby which is apparently amazing and which you can get a key for by paying a small annual fee. Apparently it's named after a doctor who donated the land. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the garden or find it online. Can anyone help? Thanks, Elsa
  13. Hello, Just wondering if this french group ever came together? I am moving to Peckham Rye (just off Bellenden rd) with a 1.5 year old and a 3.5 year old and keen to reinforce their French (I am French originally and I speak to the kids in French, but I was born in London so am becoming increasingly anglicized as they years go by, and my husband is Scottish). Thanks, Elsa
