  1. Just watched the first episode. I think it's a great advert for Southwark Council staff who often get a poor rap. The programme focused on some great local characters - staff and residents. It showed the pressures they are under and the difficult decisions staff have to make. I thought it was very well made and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

  3. In Nunhead library you could enter the lobby to return borrowed books by placing into a cardboard box - you could not enter the main library building as there were barriers across. dontbesilly - you really are very tedious, you seem to delight in making inane comments.
  4. Nunhead library was 'open' today - well you can make returns anyway. It didn't look like you could enter the main building.

  6. Southwark website says mid-July with a limited service and an announcement will be made soon.
  7. There is a recycling bin for small electricals on Sydenham Hill on the opposite side and before you get to the Dulwich Wood House. For toasters, kettles, hairdryers etc.
  8. I'm so glad things have settled down for the poor residents - sounds like it has been a complete nightmare.
  9. Just me then.....
  10. I am so pleased they have been reunited. Thank you for the update.
  11. No it's the last episode of the series. Will be shown on BBC1 on Sunday but you can download now.
  12. Excited to see the lovely Rivoli ballroom and not so lovely St George's a Walk in Croydon feature in the last episode
  13. Snakefilth you sound charming (not). Have a biscuit (or perhaps you are a troll). Most people do not want to see large ugly bins in our lovely open spaces - they just want residents to have some respect for their environment.
  14. I think the people affected would disagree with you snakefilth - a fire affecting several homes is pretty major. https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/incidents/2020/may/house-fire-forest-hill/
  15. The bins are being emptied daily. If the bins are full you should find another bin or take the rubbish home with you. It's not rocket science that food waste left lying around a bin will be ripped open by foxes and other wildlife and strewn by the wind etc. The people who empty the bins should not have to scour the area sweeping up detritus left by selfish anti-social idiots. It makes the park unpleasant for the majority who do the right thing.
  16. Thank you for posting this Mancity68 - that's really interesting.
  17. I went last night at about 8.30 - straight in. No queues at the checkout. Only thing I couldn't get were eggs.

  19. There may be less cans and bottles discarded but the amount of PPE discarded on pavements and by kerbs is disgusting. Have see blue plastic gloves and paper face masks everywhere.
  20. I thought the Eddie Marsen episode was great, my favourite by far. Loved Grandad's (David Threlfall) antics in their back garden and boys were superb. A real story told the n 15 minutes. The 'making of' show was really interesting, amazing how it was put together remotely and in such a short time. Well done all.
  21. I've enjoyed the first two episodes. Very creative, thank you for the heads up.
  22. Just watched this - absolute classic with famous faces throughout including Dot Cotton and Brian Blessed. Filmed at various locations in Peckham inc Peckham Rye Train Station and the old Dulwich Hamlet ground. Circa 1974/5
  23. I always used to put the pills in a small piece of cheese for my dog. Worked every time.
  24. Well done children of Forest Hill Road and East Dulwich who are displaying some lovely artwork in their front windows to support NHS workers and to spread a message of hope at this terrible time. Spread the word... https://www.itv.com/news/utv/2020-03-25/rainbow-pictures/
