Before that, at Off The Cuff Music Bar and youth music festivals in Brockwell Park. Over 500 acts shown. Lambeth Gold Charter Mark Award for helping young people. Really keen to get young people to step up and perform. It?s not about about musical ability, it?s about building confidence and presenting yourself. Ages 5-17.   2. JOM Junior Open Mic Sunday 15th March 2020 2-4.30pm Off The Cuff Music Bar, Railton Road, Herne Hill Come and see or take part in the largest Junior Open Mic in the UK. Between 15 and 25 acts ranging from ages 4 to 17. To perform, just turn up at 1.45pm and register. All free. Your performance will be professionally engineered for sound. There is a supportive friendly family audience. All acts get a free drink token and younger performers get a certificate of bravery. There is no pressure to perform. Prior to the Junior Open Mic we also have free sessions where young people can perform on stage in private (or they select a small family audience). This is a great way to nurture creativity beyond performing at home and build confidence. A good starting point is to sing on stage with a backing track. Please book in advance. Equipment: Purpose built music stage featuring 8 SM58 vocal mics. 6 Instrument mics. Full Size Roland Keyboard, Bass, Acoustic + Electric Guitar Amps, fully mic'd up house drum kit, monitor speaker, main speakers, full mixing desk. Professional sound engineer. V good sound.   6. A free music festival on 15th Sep 1pm-5pm in Brockwell Park (by Brockwell Hall) featuring 32 junior open mic acts. Bring a picnic and a sneaky bottle of wine. Watch the next generation of musical talent from ages 5 to 17. Acts range from debuts to junior bands with record contracts. All have chosen to step up and share their talent performing with festival quality sound.
  7. Free, parent-organised Junior Open Mic on Sunday 28th Aprl 2-4.30pm at Off The Cuff Music Bar, Herne Hill Incredible accoustics. To perform, just turn up at 1.45pm, register and get up on stage! Younger performers get a Certificate of Bravery. All performers get a free drinks token. The JOMs have grown to become the largest Junior Open Mic in London. Up to 36 performers per session utilising an impressive array of accoustic equipment. Vocal and instrumental mics, fully mic'd up drum kit. Full size Roland keyboard, electric and acoustic guitar amps, monitor speakers, mixing desk with broadcast quality sound. Any performance is welcome and appreciated. Share a few riff's, a poem or form a band and get your first live gig! The JOM's are all about encouraging performance for young people ? arming them later in life with the confidence to present themselves artistically or in business. For beginner performers there are free pre-JOM performance slots available from 1-2pm where we clear the room of an audience so each child or group of children can experience performing on stage in privacy.   9. Free Junior Open Mic Session at Off The Cuff Music Bar SE24 NEXT SESSION ? Sunday 10th March 2019 2pm-4.30pm These sessions are designed to make young performers feel as special as possible and nurture confidence. The venue provides a professional sound engineer plus a dedicated sound stage featuring an array of mics, fully mic'd up house drum kit, full size Roland keyboard and guitar amps. On-hand is a performers' assistant, award giver, compere, stage assistant and supportive, friendly audience ? and a free soft drink to every performer! These events started in late 2017 and have become the largest Junior Open Mics in London. They are organised by local parents as free community events. Typically, young performers are aged between 4-14 and we see up to 36 performers per session ? from solo singers with backing track, poets, instrumentalists to rock bands. First-timers are very, very, very welcome! There is no judgement and our focus is on the bravery of getting up on stage. If your child is interested, pop along and see what it's all about. We see plenty of singers with backing tracks, bands, guitarists, ukulists, drummers, pianists, trumpeteers, comedians, joke tellers and poets. The format emphasises bravery and presenting yourself.   12. It's on 16th September at 2pm by Brockwell Hall featuring over 20 acts. A proper sound set up and the acts are from Junior Open Mic events at Off The Cuff Bar and Junior Open Mic events at Brixton Ritzy. It's a celebration of young peoples' musical journeys and will feature a real mix of performers ranging from 4-17, recordists, ukulists, singers, beatboxers, a punk band, comedy.
