Little Village Southwark is like a foodbank but for clothes, toys and equipment for under 5s. We collect donations of great quality items from the local community and gift these donations on to struggling local families. We will be opening our third branch in Nunhead in January 2019 and are looking for a volunteer treasurer to help with our finances. The key responsibilities of this role are to oversee the financial affairs of Little Village Southwark, to maintain proper records and to prepare monthly reports for the Advisory Committee and feed back to our board of trustees. We estimate the role requires a commitment of 10 hours per month, the majority of which can be done online remotely. You will be required to attend monthly team meetings and quarterly trustee meetings. Ideally, we are looking or someone who is a qualified accountant with experience of charity fundraising. Knowledge and experience of Xero would be a bonus but not essential.
