  1. I think that's a bit harsh at least she asked advice! When we were applying to secondary schools in the area a few years ago people were blatantly renting near to charter one and then moving back to out of catchment homes after getting a place - (though how they can afford & be bothered with all that upheaval I fail to understand..) I expect they didn't ask advice on the forum but they got away with it!
  2. I've used them in previous properties for mice & always been happy with them but not used them since 2012. Now got mice again & when booking them in was told that for 3 visits you now have to pay all the money up front - before they actually do anything or solve the problem! I think this is unfair has anyone else has same problem - would you still use them when they are demanding all the money before they solve the issue? I don't feel happy with it but have no experience of other local pest control services.
  3. Just read all this & thought as another voice maybe I should add that my other half & our kids beeen having haircuts at mem's since it opened and have always found the staff courteous and good cuts. We personally have never witnessed anything like this in their shop. From the Op's post it sounds this was chat between two barbers - yes unacceptable language but hardly a police matter?
  4. Of course everyone has to share the amenities but in a park that doesn't mean pedestrians only being allowed to walk on the pavement! It's a shared space. Alternative is that the council do what they have in the Meadows park in Edinburgh where they have a clearly marked cycle lane but I don't see that is necessary in a park with the width of the carriage way in Dulwich Park, where they also hire out Go carts and smaller bikes that all go at different speeds. I am sure you could go & cycle at the velodrome down the road on a quiet day with no fear of pedestrians.
  5. It's a park that's the whole point, it's nice to be able to walk around it & not have to be squeezed onto a pavement as you are when you are on a normal street! Unless there is a designated cycle path I don't think you can argue that bikes should take priority over people enjoying walking around the park and actually it is nicer to walk on the middle of the path rather than the sloping uneven pavement section. The velodrome is available down the road for proper cycling with no fear of pedestrians in the way!
  6. Fenchurch street direct train to Chalkwell beach in Essex takes 55 mins and nice beach you can get the 40 from east dulwich to Fenchurch street from

memory - I did this as a summer day trip couple years ago with kids & it was great & I felt less hassle to get to than Brighton etc.
