  1. Brilliant, will be there with my laptop and stuff. See you there! Come on people - leave the house and enjoy some companie whilst working!
  2. Hi lorraineliyanage, I am all up for Wednesday. Will you post a time? Hopefully some people will join. Looking forward to it!
  3. Hi there, I'd love the idea of the 'captured on the rye', doesn't need to be a tuesday though. Thursday or friday?! Keep me updated.
  4. Hi, thanks to everyone who replied. I liked the idea of meet-up workspaces, but I can't see myself travelling into town. How about a local meeting in one of the cafes in the area. Trouble is, I don't know where to go. Big tables, wifi, not too many kids ... Suggestions? We could try next week, maybe Tuesday morning. Shall we?
  5. Thank you for all your recommendations - keep them coming! Regarding the DKHP, read it's open for kids from 8 years onwards. My group will be between 6 and 7 years old. Will they accept that? And will they open the playground for a party at a weekend? I guess I should just call them, but if anybody knows ...
  6. ... sitting here all alone with my laptop all day. The work needs to be done, but it could be done with company. Anybody out there who would like to meet up to work in a cafe with wifi and a big table over a good cup of coffee?!
  7. Dear Forumites, I need you help regarding ideas for my son's party. He's turning 7 and wants to invite the whole class. Magician, clown ... not his thing. Maybe streetdance? He is dreaming of horse riding or go-cart, but that's just not on for 20 kids. Last year hubby and l did the entertainment for the gang, but our offspring wants something cool (not his parents). Ideas that won't break the bank?
  8. Poor you, l feel for you. But in four weeks you might feel so much better that you want to go hiking. Is it only hiking, or is somebody driving the lugage fr door to door or are you staying At one place and you can join from time to time?
  9. Skagen is at the 'peak' of denmark (map wise) I have been there once: wind, wind and more wind Copenhagen is lovely and the coast and beaches too.
  10. Ok, it's not denmark but north too. Germany, Ruegen and the Mecklenburger Seenplatte (u google) or Amrum (beautiful island). Have a look its both beautiful!
  11. Maybe the rivoli ballroom in brockley http://rivolilondon.com
  12. I love to go to broadstairs, but l dont know if thats easy by train. The beach is a bay direct in front of the small town. Lovely, small, calm water, short ways to shops and restaurants. When mine were younger l went with them all by myself as l felt it easy to handle there. But as l said, not sure about the train connection
  13. I just walked past a britax in heren hill, dorchester court between the garages, for free to take. Looked good so far. Or you buy mine britax duo plus, excellent condition, no accidents, ?50
  14. Well, my daughter was 1 year, my son two years ... And she was 10 for her holy communion. All late, all fine :-)
  15. no sure if that's helpful, but I wouldn't do bath every day. none of them needs it on a daily base and it save your nerves. and it will get better over time ... :-)
  16. I have a girl and and boy (he is four years you ger than her) and they are a great team. She is kind and gentle, he a boyish, cheeky boy. They are getting on so well, still sharing a room. Yes, they argue but font fight often. At home they dont play too much together, but as soon as we go somewhere else. I think they are a great addition to each others life ans l am glad l have it as it is. (I never got on with my sister, still not, what l find sad.
  17. Hi, It delends on the airline and the company you're hireing from. Check out the costs with both. Booster seats are often very expensive to hire, we often drive to The nearest store and buy a cheap booster seat there and give it to somebody else when we fly home. Still cheaper.
  18. Ladival! My daughter is highly allergic (really itchy rash usually) and very fair skin, so it is essential to have a high spf. That one is the only cream she tolerates and that one is made for allergic skin. To us it is holiday saver. It's a german brand but as far as I know you can get it on ebay. Happy summer! enjoy
  19. "Fee increases, above inflation" Very true! Forgot that one. True and annoying and not always justified.
  20. Thanks for all your suggestions. Due to family circumstances we won't make it this week, but they are on my list now And the summer hols are coming soon :-)) Thanks again and keep posting.
  21. Hi Mine are at rosemead. Hidden costs: school trips. Up to the last penny it will be added to the bill. You have to provide packed lunch then, but the missed lunch won't be deducted though. Something l never understood. Anyway: mostnof the uniform we buy second hand, white shirts from m&s. Haven't bought any additional sport equipment yet. Costs of clubs vary: Run by stuff really affordable, ?10-15 per term roughly. Run by external teacher, round ?80. So you can decide. But you'll have to ask for it, they are mostly not on display. Hope that helps.
  22. Hi all, thanks to many helpful tips and some months later we managed to hire a flute for my daughter. She is so excited. Now we need an experienced teacher for her. Somebody who is caring, fun and able to come to our house in SE24. Please pm me if you know somebody or if you can offer lessons. enjoy
  23. Hi all, I have never been there, but we might go half term. Where should we go? We like it quiet, peaceful and need a place to stay. Any tips? Thanks in advance!
