  1. Just to add to what has already been said on this thread before, Southwark Council do open the debate for consultation on whether to install another bike hangar. Frankly i'm stunned in this day and age that some people are so appalled by a scheme which replaces one car on the road with up to 6/8 green modes of public transport, but you do have the right to voice your concerns through the advertised diplomatic channels.
  2. All, a quick update from us - we have tried to recycle our packaging through this new scheme on more than one occasion and despite it being listed as a service as G rightly notes, Sainsbury's have told us it is not something they can/will accept. I shall drop them an email but we may have greater luck through some good old fashioned people power, if anybody else feels emboldened to pester them! :)
  3. Thanks for sharing G, we've had trouble spotting this new facility, seems to be lumped in generally with the plastic bags bit at the exit/entrance? On a similar note, I hope you don't mind me hi-jacking this thread to draw people's attention to a petition I have started to get the Superdrug on Lordship Lane to accept empty medicine packets for recycling: You can drop off empty medicine blister packets for recycling at participating Superdrug pharmacies through the TerraCycle Programme. Please sign my petition to ask the Superdrug store on Lordship Lane, East Dulwich, to sign up to this scheme so we can all recycle more! TerraCycle partners with businesses to create drop off points for waste that cannot be recycled by local councils and one of these partnerships is with Superdrug, where you can drop off your empty medicine blister packets in one of their participating store. Unfortunately, the Superdrug on Lordship Lane is not a store that?s registered (in fact, there are almost none in the whole of Southwark) so I have decide to lobby them to sign up to the scheme and a petition is a persuasive way of showing there is local demand for the service. For anybody that?s interested please sign the petition to get this neat initiative brought to ED - [chng.it] Happy recycling!

  5. I had my fair share of the earthy life, then moved to Dulwich! So my point wasn?t so much about class warfare but what is appropriate for the neighbourhood. I?m not sure why that?s quite so controversial... Anyway, amidst the rubbish and graffiti I found the attached notice and a notice of trespassing from the council. I rest my case.
  6. Is anybody aware of the legalities of squatting (aka ?Guardian properties?)? Sadly the old Melbourne Grove medical practice seems to have turned into a deleted scene from 24 hour party people (great film by the way) with very loud music and drug taking. Call me a party pooper but not really appropriate along a street with families ... wondering how on earth permission would have been granted for this?
  7. Hi there, I found a HSBC debit card belonging to a Mr S R Green on Friday 10 July at around 18:40, along Melbourne Grove near to the house of dreams. It was dropped on the pavement. If you are the mysterious Mr Green please let me know! Josh
  8. Hi guys, is this still a regular thing? Would be keen to join in the cracke if so!
  9. Dear neighbours, I live on Melbourne Grove and over the last few weeks somebody has been stealing our plants, pots, and decorations. I?ve reported the incidents but I wanted to let you know in case you have anything in your front yard/garden/window ledge of value/significance. Have any other residents been a victim of the same crime? Please share if you have and if you have not done so already report the incident(s.
