  1. The family have talked us into doing this this year but the wife and I missed the first code in yesterday's paper. Does anyone have a copy of yesterday's 'Sun' to hand? If so, I don't suppose you could pass on the code word please? Thanks UP
  2. hear hear maxxi.. i totally agree.. ;)

RosieH - I like your style ;)
  5. ok a little more detail for StraferJack... i had popped out with with my 17 month old son in his buggy. i am very conscious that pushing a buggy down the high street can be difficult at the best of times, especially when busy. so i always make a conscious effort to allow others to pass by even if it means waiting to let people through. given this, a simple gesture to acknowledge this wouldn't be too difficult but it clearly it is! no doubt if i were to push my buggy irregardless of others there would be many a post on the forum complaining about buggies on the lane... if people in cars can raise a hand to acknowledge thanks surely people on foot can??
  6. even faking it would be better... at least it makes being polite worth while or i'm going to turn into one of those people that everyone tuts at for being very rude!
  7. does a sunny day in east dulwich cause people to forgot their manners! a simple thank you or even smile surely can't be that difficult... poor poor poor... what's happening to this town!
  8. we decided to get foxtons round to give us a valuation after feeling a little bit desperate! they valued our house 5% higher than 3 other agents. when i asked them to justify why it was worth more, they told me it was because they could command that amount!! when i asked "what if they couldn't" they said they would get us the best deal they could! so, when you take into account the additional 1% commission over and above everyone else you have to be pretty confident they can sell at a price that covers their fee! not an easy task given the climate...
  9. like Heidihi says your baby will lead you.. our boy did exactly that and we tried giving him food at 4 mnths and it worked wonders! we realised breast feeding wasn't enough and with a combination of food and milk he was a happy soul ;) my view is that guidelines, reports and government advice should be acknowledged but not necessarily followed word for word...

  12. I sold my Bob Jackson a few months ago, like losing a limb! Have been considering a new build since, possibly a beater for pub/shop runs.. Riding brakeless is an art and as long as you're alert and not travelling uber speeds its a nice change from conventional riding.
  13. The wife and I recently bought two stairgates after much research. We tried to install them however came across a major problem. The areas we want to install the gates aren't sturdy enough e.g. stair banister / cupboard wall. Does anyone know of an alternative that doesn't rely on two surfaces being solid or striaght? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.
  14. Crystal Palace and Heber Road have shocking amounts of dog poo. It seems certain dog owners clearly don't consider the public and are happy to let their dogs crap on streets which are no doubt well away from where they live! Its disgusting!!!
  15. I took a run around the park this afternoon and it was solid under foot and not icy.
