  1. Bleedin Nora! It looks like Kilburn has migrated to Dulwich! ;-) I've not noticed such a swarm of paddies in one spot since the Guinness was on offer in Somerfield! Anyone and everyone seems to have a thin strain of Irish DNA somewhere down the line. Like the Americans who are "1/16 Irish, 1/8 Polish, 2/5 Burmese and 3/7 Norwegian". None are American of course. I'm not Irish, but my girlfriend is. I'm surprised she's not been on here to show some love today. I agree with James' point - I had a salesman on my case yesterday telling me how he relies daily on his thick brogue to make a sale.
  2. Word on the street has it that Jack's is very good - it's just up the road with the Magdala on the corner - can't remember the name of the road. I don't think it's the greasey spoon variety however. I've not been, but my girlfriend swears by it, which is why I'm guessing they serve organic, homemade cous-cous served on a bed of hand-reared 12 year old finest lettuce leaves. Probably more of a Blue Mountain job than a Lane. The more grease the better if you ask me! On a non-Dulwich note, apparently Ikea serve a fry up for 95p!!
  3. Did you not know that buses are above the law?! It's a complete windup how London Buses seem to do what they like without any regulation (that I know of anyhow). Tube? 15min wait and money back. Train? What is it? An hour wait and money back? Even planes are in on the money back for an under-performing/lack of service. But Buses? Oh no! They can do what they like because it is all "beyond their control". Agreed, traffic can cause some delays, but I think more often, Bus drivers sitting around eating pies or just not showing up for work causes more delays! Anyhow, ending this tangent, I think Maggie Thatcher's hilarious quote teaches us all a lesson... "A man who, beyond the age of 26, finds himself on a bus can count himself as a failure." I've got 10 months of success left then!
