  1. Hello- looking for birthday present for 3 year old which will see her through a good few years until we have space to get a piano. Ideally with weighted keys but also not full size- does such a thing exist? Looked at the KORG microPiano but only seems to exist in Japan! Any recommendations appreciated- will definitely want a bigger model in due course but prioritising space in the house for more toddler-friendly toys. Thanks!
  2. We moved into our house a few months ago and last night a massive amount of water came into the kitchen via some leaking part of the kitchen side return. Any recommendations for someone who could look at it today or very soon most welcome! Or anyone with experience of leaking side return with recommendations of best approach to resolve. Thanks!
  3. Any recommendations for therapists with experience helping professionals with impromptu panic attacks/anxiety when faced with certain kinds of public speaking/presentation? In Herne Hill or around. Thanks!
  4. Count us in! Recently returned from Argentina, raising 3yo bilingually and very keen for meet-uos! We are in Herne Hill but willing to travel!!
  5. Thanks all! The Woldingham tip is a great one, and not a school I had come across in lists of south east boarding schools. Much appreciated!
  6. Just asking for a sense check. There are no private schools for girls/mixed with boarding facilities near Dulwich, correct? Only Dulwich College for boys? About to buy a house in Herne Hill and might long-term need a boarding school for daughter if our work takes us overseas. But ideally would have her as a day pupil for when we are in the UK. But struggling to find any schools with boarding facilities for girls which are a sensible commute from HH/Dulwich. Would love to be corrected!
  7. Thank you! Am I being a total dunce or is there no link in your message?
  8. I'm struggling to work out what the total outgoings per month would be to employ a nanny full time in London, ie how to work out what tax, NI, pension etc come to on top of the hourly rate. I'm going back to work in 10 months and will have a 10 month old and 3 year old. Nursery quote for both is about ?3000/month (including the 30 free hours to which 3yo will be entitled). If I could afford a nanny for that money per month I think it would make life much nicer - I could ask her to take 3yo to the very nice state nursery school for thee hours every morning which would be covered by 30hours (she already has a place) so she still gets stimulation of a school setting and little one has more focussed care. But I'm struggling to work out total costs. ?3000/month would be very painful but keen to spend it in the best way! If we went down the nanny route and she came 7am-6.30pm I could also work compressed hours 4 days a week and be on full salary, and only need to pay for four days. Very grateful for help with an idea of whether a nanny is totally out of my price range! Thank you.
  9. Thanks both so much for your replies. Passiflora- we've only just returned to the UK after a number of years overseas and so once we've settled we'll be looking to join a church anyway, not expecting to to just say that we are willing :-) CaraJ- great to hear that you are happy with the school. A happy, close-knit community sounds perfect and we would be within easy walking distance. Maybe meet you before too long! Thanks again.
  10. Hi all, we live in Brixton and considering a move to Lowden Road in Herne Hill. We have a 2.5yo and a 3 day old (!) and our nearest primaries would be Jessop (about 10m away) and St Saviours (very happy to attend church and would be keen to do so anyway). I?ve read everything I can find online about both but would welcome any current parent views, knowing or course that things can change in 3 years. PM if easier. Thank you!
