  1. For a customer of mine I washed the seat in the washing machine using the sport clothes program but with cold water, and with added disinfectant. Then I put the whole buggy in the bathtub and washed it by hand, using at first damp antibacterial wipes and the hoover to remove hair and stuff and then just showered it with warm water. I dried with a tea towel. Not easy done as said, but it worked quite nicely, it took me about 40 / 50 minutes all together and the result was that it looked as new! I guess it may require specialist care if you have tore / damaged parts or if you attempted to wash the seat and then put it in the tumble dryer as the fabric may shrink but otherwise it is not an impossible mission. Good luck! Maria Maria Longo Joy of Cleaning Dulwich, London Mobile 07887990108 email [email protected]
  2. Plenty of ventilation, light and good general hygiene is the best preventative treatment particularly if you have lot of mature carpet and upholstery, wardrobes and cabinets full of clothes, duvets and rugs. Duvets, blankets, curtains, rugs and carpet must be cleaned regularly and the same is with clothes. Never ever going out for dinner and then put back the clothes you wore in the wardrobe. On top of these safe habits, I use myself and recommend to all my clients to use drops of tea tree oil when the season changes. You can reuse those little balls and discs and leave them in drawers or wherever you have fabrics / carpets and wood stuff. If you want to wipe surfaces tea tree oil can be also diluted with water that is another robust useful measure in case of infestation but avoid directly contact with skin or eyes as it can be toxic and irritating. It seems the combination of regular cleanings / laundry and good hygiene and occasional tea tree oil treatment works very well for the absolute majority of people. 3. Fresh turmeric: you can ask the veggies shops in Lordship Lane, somebody surely has it as I found it few years ago but I can't remember exactly which one. Chickpeas (legume) are a very good source of proteins too btw, and also (roasted / dried) a delicious snack to alternate with walnuts, pistachios or other nuts. Maria
  4. Yes Pugwash as far as I know the same applies to any surface as self-cleaning materials are still a bit further down the line while germs and bacteria expand exponentially
  5. I have checked for curiosity as I have a client with the same type of floor and it looks like they do not disclose the specific glue their product is made of so if you have spilled something that does not go away it may be a bit of a pain-in-the-ass job... Anyhow, I hope you have sorted in the meantime. If no, they say to do what I usually do that is (copying here from their website): "Do not use steam mops or cleaners Do not leave standing water on the floor, wipe up any spills immediately General cleaning of the floor should be done using a soft broom or vacuum cleaner A well rung out mop can also be used periodically, however avoid the use of excess water We recommend that floor mats are used at entrances to the property - this will help avoid abrasive particles damaging the surface Do not use abrasive cleaning materials: scouring powders, steel wool, metal brushes etc. " I usually dilute kind of a spoon of bleach in the bucket of water I soak the mop in and that (very well wrung out as said) works quite well Maria
  6. Of course always use very well cleaned and wrung out mops / clothes and make sure you do not leave too much chemicals residue on the floor. Choice of products and frequency of wet cleaning mostly depends on what your laminate floor is made of (resins, plastic, wood?) Secondly how do you use the floor, if you have kids eating and playing around dropping sticky and oily food, if you do daily hoovering or not, if you use boots and trainers or dirty shoes inside the house or not, if you have pets and so on and so forth. Finally, there is a huge difference in what you can do for good maintenance, hygiene and health if your laminate floor is in a dry and well ventilate house / flat or in a ground floor subject to mould and damp - there are few places in Dulwich / East Dulwich and surrounding areas that have not been built upon or very close to streams of water, rivers and natural ponds covered in Victorian times and during last Century. Best of luck and do not hesitate to get in touch or ask for a quote if you want a professionally cleaned floor Maria
  7. Best thing you can do is to talk with your GP and be tested as soon as possible about any underlying immune system or other cause. A simple blood test and a proper review of your diet and hygiene habits can help you sort out the problem. Best wishes Maria
