  3. Hi there. I need to send my father a face mask I?ve got. It?s not the normal size face mask, it?s actually a respirator so measures about 13cm cubed whilst in the box. And now there seems to be movement towards masks, he is more likely to wear it whilst shopping etc. Does anyone know whether Lordship Lane Post Office, or the one in the Village, are actually open - I?ve seen posts suggesting that it?s hard to tell from one day to the next as to whether the Post Office is going to open? And if not, does anyone know what may be the next best option for posting - I presume a courier but it feels a bit over the top! Any help would be gratefully received, thank you.
  4. Is Really Maria open for business, do you happen to know?
  5. Perhaps we should determine the amount of air a runner emits in 20-30 minutes of jogging whilst in proximity to other humans, versus the air emitted in proximity to others that walkers do in the 60 minutes they are milling about. Mako, I understand and abhor the joggers who are just not keeping their distance (one ran up behind me in Dulwich park last weekend - there was no one else around...why?!!) but it?s better if we all just call these people out immediately rather than tarring every jogger with the same brush. I too should grow some balls and call them out rather than internally curse their ignorance and get worked up. If I felt like someone would confront me, I?d be less inclined to be an arsehole. And Mako, the type of people doing this are not the type of people who read a community forum.
  6. So whilst there will be NHS staff working with COVID patients directly, and therefore working under extreme pressure and for long hours, there are also NHS staff (perhaps those ?pushing in? at Sainsbury?s) who are going into hospitals every day or making several home calls everyday who are putting themselves at risk to help us all out. I don?t think the majority of people understand that it?s not just critical care and ICU staff that are impacted; the entire healthcare system in London has rapidly undergone a huge reorganisation to move as many people out of hospitals as possible to free up beds and also move ?at risk? people out of situations where they could catch this virus. This has required huge amounts of dedication across the NHS, and has required NHS staff to put themselves in harms way in a manner the rest of us can only imagine as we isolate in our homes day in day out. Surely these people deserve to save 20 minutes on their grocery shop every few days. Come on people, these criticisms are perverse and somewhat undignified.
  7. Thank you. Do you have social distancing practices in place? I?m limiting the numbers entering etc?
  8. This is good news, bravo to Alleyn?s. Does anyone know how you can access the Alleyns field - is it through the big entrance on Townley Road - and is the top field the one where the school is based, or on the opposite side of Townley Road?
  9. Stop blaming joggers..! There are ignorant and lazy people everywhere you go. These people may sometimes choose to walk, sometimes cycle, maybe even run, or worse still...roller blade. It?s simple - everyone should make an effort to distance themselves from one another. And that includes moving yourself out of the way of oncoming traffic - it takes two to tango. Don?t just expect cyclists or runners or roller bladers to move - pedestrians must also move. And if you don?t, well don?t whinge when you don?t get the whole pavement to yourself! But on a serious note, I noticed today that people overall were being more conscientious, which is really positive. And whoever was moaning about parks being for families: bore off. The parks are for everyone.
  10. I believe I read that a study suggests that the virus can reside in the air for quite some time, and that it needn?t have arrived in the air by virtue of a sneeze or cough - simply breathing is enough. I recall the study being American and have provided a link below from Science Journal. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.sciencenews.org/article/coronavirus-covid-19-breathing-talking-enough-spread-airborne/amp Maybe we should all be trying to cover our mouths and noses to help lessen the spread afterall...
  11. Agreed. And I?m a jogger. The 20% (not 10%) are letting everyone down. Let?s not forget the pedestrians who don?t move a hot, usually teenagers or young adults.
  12. I was there at 1500 today, as advised by the pharmacist inside as I needed to pick up something from there too. I was told that was the best time to be inside the shop. I was queuing for 15-20 minutes. Everyone on the queue was keeping their distance. The man behind me was coughing though. Entered the store, all very well stocked - the only thing I couldn?t find was flour, eggs and spices. Plenty of fruit and veg, meat as well. The toilet roll aisle was back to normal too. HOWEVER, the situation inside wasn?t very well managed - too many people in the veg and meat aisles so the two metre distancing was not happening at all, it felt rather claustrophobic. The same with the queues at the tills, just a bit too close. I think sainsburys were letting just a few too many people.
  13. Hi, I?m interested in you fruit, veg, meat and milk box. The website gives a list of what to expect on the meat, dairy, eggs front, but could you let us know roughly what we could expect in terms of fruit and veg? Thank you
  14. Hello Organic Market How are you on stock today, Sunday 28 March? I?m in need of milk, fruit and veg, and....loo roll? Spices, nuts, flour and eggs would also be handy, if you have them? Regards
  15. Hi. To avoid large groups of people, I?m wondering if anyone has noticed when it tends to be busy at the Sainsbury?s on Dog Kennel Hill at the moment, and what the situation is inside - is it worth even going?
  16. Thank you very much, this is tremendously helpful. And it sounds like you may have seen her outside the house as well! What a bizarre set up - well dressed, shopping trolley etc. I will let the police know, much appreciated - and for trying to move her on too. Do you have any idea of what time of day it may have been - was it broad daylight?
  17. Over the past three weeks, I?ve noticed that the bins outside the house are getting some unwelcome attention - the bin bags are being opened with the contents removed. I?ve noticed this has happened at least three times to my knowledge, but could have been more frequent than that. I have not seen who is doing it, and suspect it is happening over the course of the night. What is particularly worrying is that I had thrown out an old mountaineering coat that had completely lost its waterproofing as well issues with the down that couldn?t be fixed - and it had been removed from the bin bag and put back into the bin - it would have looked like a prime thing to steal if one was looking for items to steal. Which suggests to me that someone is looking for other things - such as bank statements and letters. Either way, I?ve reported it to the police and I think they?ve been trying to call back (promising) whilst I?ve been out this afternoon. This is happening on Lordship Lane, near the junction with Townley Road. Has anyone else noticed anything recently? The previous threads I?ve seen on this date back to 2017z and has anyone noticed any strange bin rummaging recently? Worth being careful with what you are putting into your rubbish. Thank you!
