Massive recommendation for our cleaners, Polly and Steven. We’re leaving ED next week and will miss many things, not least Polly and Steven who have cleaned for us for almost 9 years. You can contact them on 07727 042636.

Recommendation for Des - he just did an exterior paint job on the front of our house and touched up a few bits inside. Very good value, no fuss, no mess, and he came back to do a couple of bits I forgot to ask him to do. Also left him with keys to do the work while we went on holiday. Can't fault the guy.

Is this your cat?
Yeslovewhatcanigetu replied to Yeslovewhatcanigetu's topic in Lost, Found or Stolen
Sorry for late reply! We didn't have any luck but we are much more confident that she at least has a home as she is in much better condition now. She's definitely had her kittens as well as she grew over a period of a couple of months and has now shrunk again. We see her much less often so I'm hoping she's taking care of her offspring! -
This friendly, young, female cat has been visiting our garden for a couple of months now. We see her almost daily and if we leave the door open she is not shy to come in the house. We’ve never worried about her as she seems in good condition and has a collar, although she’s always hungry and if any food is left out she will nab it. She’s been in heat twice over the last couple of months and we saw her mating last week so she may be pregnant. She’s turned up today after a week without seeing her a bit bedraggled and smelly, with matted fir so we’re a bit worried she’s not being taken care of. We’re on Ulverscroft Road at the North Cross Road end and our house backs onto Crystal Palace Road. We’re not feeding her or taking her in, but are keen to know she’s being looked after.

Recommended Groundworks and services - Carl Fuller-Brown
Yeslovewhatcanigetu replied to Stores's topic in Reviews
Carl just finished some work for me replacing a fence and I highly recommend him. The work was more complicated than it first seemed due to a neighbour’s garden office causing problems but he did a great job in explaining everything to me and sorting it quickly. Really straightforward, perfect work and very friendly and professional. Good value too. -
Weird smell on Ulverscoft road
Yeslovewhatcanigetu replied to misterdulwich's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That smell has been there for at least two years - it's certainly not the chip shop or the barber shop, it smells more like rotten compost. -
Reusable coffee cups...

Motown in Peckham Rye station will refill cups. -
I thought it was a big improvement when I went in yesterday. My other half was given a free bag of shopping too - bonus.

Worries about Brexit, Anyone worried ??
Yeslovewhatcanigetu replied to natty01295's topic in The Lounge
Brexit is about emotion, not any rational or objective thought process. For most people life will go on pretty much as it was before, with slightly more bureaucracy when they go on their summer holidays. Meanwhile, as we realise that we?ve cut ourselves off from the world more than is good for us, we?ll drift closer back towards Europe. We?re European, they?re our closest neighbours - this is just the beginning of the next chapter and nowhere near the end of the story. -

Definitely coming to see you for a curry soon! -
Agree with The Gym in Peckham. Really cheap, good facilities, loads of space. You can check on the app how busy it is before you go and they stop letting people in if it gets too full (I?ve never not been able to get in).

I had a curry in Memsaab a few weeks back and managed to follow the rules, as did everyone else who was eating there. I wasn?t suggesting people should break them. I just think that constantly overplaying the risks is getting tiresome and reporting small businesses doing their best to survive in difficult circumstances is unfair. -

I?m glad there are more people starting to see sense and taking a more balanced view. The chances of getting Covid in Memsaab are pretty tiny, and if you?re worried about it, agree that you?re probably better off getting a takeaway. -

There?s nothing wrong with a family going to a pub and respecting social distancing and the guidance that has been laid out. This pandemic has really brought out the judginess in people.
