  1. Sorry for late reply! We didn't have any luck but we are much more confident that she at least has a home as she is in much better condition now. She's definitely had her kittens as well as she grew over a period of a couple of months and has now shrunk again. We see her much less often so I'm hoping she's taking care of her offspring!
  2. This friendly, young, female cat has been visiting our garden for a couple of months now. We see her almost daily and if we leave the door open she is not shy to come in the house. We’ve never worried about her as she seems in good condition and has a collar, although she’s always hungry and if any food is left out she will nab it. She’s been in heat twice over the last couple of months and we saw her mating last week so she may be pregnant. She’s turned up today after a week without seeing her a bit bedraggled and smelly, with matted fir so we’re a bit worried she’s not being taken care of. We’re on Ulverscroft Road at the North Cross Road end and our house backs onto Crystal Palace Road. We’re not feeding her or taking her in, but are keen to know she’s being looked after.
  3. Carl just finished some work for me replacing a fence and I highly recommend him. The work was more complicated than it first seemed due to a neighbour’s garden office causing problems but he did a great job in explaining everything to me and sorting it quickly. Really straightforward, perfect work and very friendly and professional. Good value too.
  4. Joe Knight at KNdesigns is excellent. http://kndesigns.co.uk/
  5. That smell has been there for at least two years - it's certainly not the chip shop or the barber shop, it smells more like rotten compost.
  6. Motown in Peckham Rye station will refill cups.
  7. I thought it was a big improvement when I went in yesterday. My other half was given a free bag of shopping too - bonus.
  8. Our cleaners, Polly and Steven, have some spaces for new clients. They?re a great team and have been cleaning for us for 5 years. They?re very thorough and trustworthy, and always very flexible too. I?d highly recommend them and Polly can be contacted on 07482 237587.
  9. Brexit is about emotion, not any rational or objective thought process. For most people life will go on pretty much as it was before, with slightly more bureaucracy when they go on their summer holidays. Meanwhile, as we realise that we?ve cut ourselves off from the world more than is good for us, we?ll drift closer back towards Europe. We?re European, they?re our closest neighbours - this is just the beginning of the next chapter and nowhere near the end of the story.
  10. We just finished a side return kitchen extension using Joe at KN Designs. Lovely chap and can?t recommend him enough.
  11. Joe Knight at KN Designs. www.kndesigns.co.uk Lovely chap, really creative.
  12. Agree with The Gym in Peckham. Really cheap, good facilities, loads of space. You can check on the app how busy it is before you go and they stop letting people in if it gets too full (I?ve never not been able to get in).

I had a curry in Memsaab a few weeks back and managed to follow the rules, as did everyone else who was eating there. I wasn?t suggesting people should break them. I just think that constantly overplaying the risks is getting tiresome and reporting small businesses doing their best to survive in difficult circumstances is unfair.
  14. I?m glad there are more people starting to see sense and taking a more balanced view. The chances of getting Covid in Memsaab are pretty tiny, and if you?re worried about it, agree that you?re probably better off getting a takeaway.
  15. Try Stefan on 07825 953950. Did a great job of ours.
  16. Hallelujah, someone talking some sense! Totally agree fishbiscuits.
  17. There?s nothing wrong with a family going to a pub and respecting social distancing and the guidance that has been laid out. This pandemic has really brought out the judginess in people.
  18. We?ve had problems with our water over the last few days which has now been confirmed as a sewer blockage. Thames Water have been surprisingly good actually throughout. They?ve sent people out promptly who were very helpful and sorted things quickly. We?re now on the way to sorting it so even if it?s client side I?d definitely get onto them, they may be more helpful than you expect.
  19. In fairness you know nothing of my political leanings and I?d criticise a government of any colours, if I felt they were failing us. And that?s what I think of this government. I?m absolutely up for coming together in the national interest, I just think that berating those that want to buy an ice cream isn?t the way to do it.
  20. We?ve been failed by a government bathing in the glow of British exceptionalism and not enacting sensible measures at the appropriate time. We?ve suffered from underfunding essential services, not providing appropriate PPE and leaving care homes out to dry as the residents are old and therefore not seen as a priority. This has got very little to do with people jogging, walking, sitting in parks enjoying a bit of sunshine or buying ice creams and respecting distancing measures as they do it. edcam Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There are no soft options. 21. Well said Fizzy. Hope you enjoyed the ice cream 😂. 22. Let?s give shops the chance to survive if they can - they?re not flouting any guidelines. If people queue sensibly then they?re not putting anyone at risk - let them have an ice cream! I?m aghast someone felt it appropriate to report this shop as an immediate course of action!
  23. Well said cyclemonkey - if people queue sensibly and follow distancing guidelines why shouldn?t they have an ice cream, and why shouldn?t the ice cream shop have some chance of survival. The level of judgement dished out on here and in society is getting silly - if it?s not buying an ice cream it?s sitting in a park with someone from your own household or jogging along a pavement. Can we just be a bit more realistic.
