I have recently noticed this horrible attitude towards my kids who are extremely well behaved when we're eating out. I feel the same about getting unfriendly vibes off people who are out without kids. The family-friendly vibe that has been here since we arrived 10 years ago seems to be fading ... a shame.

Hi there Anyone know of a good art teacher for my 10 year old budding artist? Either 1:1 tuition or part of a small class. Thanks

Hi I'm looking for someone who can upholster our sofa. It's pretty old and only cost ?300 new, so want someone that is going to charge a fair rate. If you're that person let me know. Thanks

Prep/junior school options for boys - some questions

My son has been at Oakfield for 2 years and is absolutely thriving. Some people have said it's not as good as the other prep schools in the area, but I would have to disagree with this. I think that rather than not being as good it's just a lot less pushy and "exclusive". The kids come from a wide range of backgrounds and races which for us was important and something that is lacking in the other schools in the area. A lovely mix of parents too - not all filthy rich and driving Chelsea Tractors! -
I can't wait for the Victoria to open and don't see any problems for the residents of Bellenden Road of which I am one, since it will be the only bar in the area and the drunken Lordship Lane element like to bar hop. Good luck Scott.

Good Nursery's and Schools in SE22

Camberwell Early years centre is excellent, it's in Camberwell Grove at the Dog Kennel Hill End. You'll need to act fast though as we had a 14 month wait after registering. My 2 year old has been there for 6 months now and he loves it. Speak to Beverely or Beatrice in the office, they're very helpful and extrememly nice. Hope that helps.
