Hello, I am from Leonard Cheshire, a disability charity, and we are looking for friendly, patient Digital Champions to support the people who live at Athol House in Dulwich make the most of their IT equipment. We need volunteers to support disabled people to access the digital world, get online and get more out of life. You will make a difference by helping clients use the internet and email, building digital confidence and troubleshooting basic IT issues. You don?t need to be an IT expert, you need to have an everyday knowledge of IT and a friendly, patient personality. It would be great if you have experience with training or supporting people doing something for the first time. By volunteering with us, you will gain experience working with disabled people. You will also learn about the developing field of assistive technology. We provide ongoing training and support along with expenses, as it?s important to us that our volunteers are not out of pocket because of volunteering. We?d like volunteers who can volunteer during the week, Monday to Friday, between 9 to 5. We?d like a volunteer who can give at least one day or two half days a week. We hope that our volunteers will commit to at least 6 months with us. Please note that we are looking for volunteers 18 years and older for this role.
