You can buy bread at any shop, there is a shop over the road, if you don't approve of the Gail staff not wearing a mask, shop somewhere else where they do, my guess is your visit to Gail's is not essential so stop acting like it is & just admit it,you have a choice to vote with your feet if you don't approve, I don't especially like the girl at the checkout in the shop over over road or the staff in the real Greek and neither will get my money, I certainly won't cry on a forum about it.
  2. There's a shop over the road that sells bread, it's open all hours so you had the option to avoid the crowds at Gails, I don't doubt you were not doing your weekly shop, that is the problem, the lockdown rules are easily manipulated..... Live & let live, no one likes a Mask Nazi, all you can do is make sure you follow the rules without trying to bend them so you can sleep well at night, the alternative is to shop elsewhere, use the extra walking time as your exercise.
  3. Why are you going there anyway? Is it an essential journey or work? Are you doing your weekly food shop or using it as an excuse to get out of the house? Perhaps look into your own conduct before worrying about others. I walk past that shop everyday at work & it's always packed, we are in lockdown, those people who dont seem to own kettles treat it like a coffee club with little regard for the rules so why should the staff? Dulwich Village feels like you're entering the Twighlight Zone where lockdown is a fantasy, walk down there on a Saturday to see how little people care, you yourself, having gone there twice should not be throwing stones from inside your glass house.
  4. We have had this problem for close to three months now, we live on East Dulwich Grove & I'm calling the council every week to arrange recollections, even that is not enough as they often just don't come once the recollection has been booked. I'm going through the complaints process, our complaint has just been escalated to stage two but I'm not holding out much hope, our recycling bins (we have six or seven flats in our building) have currently been sat outside for two weeks. They even had the front to lie to defend themselves saying our bins were behind a locked gate (they're not, I drag them out myself every Monday) & to say they are contaminated, no sh*t Sherlock, if you don't pick them up on time.....
  5. Yes, we went away for a week last week, came back to 2 letters for 7 days, this is not normal.
  6. We just came back from there today and it is a nice break, town centre is a bit run down (as most are) but the overall area is nice, The mini golf was fun, lots of good fish and chip shops, Billy Winters beachside restaurant/bar was really good (but a little pricey)there was plenty to do, we were there for a week, our kids are 10 & 7 and they enjoyed it so I'm sure yours will.
  7. We are having major problems with our bins, regardless of colour, I'm on the phone to them every week, rebooking new missed collection jobs & they still don't collect them. This has been going on for six weeks now.
  8. Hi, Does anyone know what's happening at the DCC? Seems to have a few young adults in and out of there on a regular basis, yesterday they were sat out the front drinking, not that I'm against drinking, just interested to know what's happening to it.
  9. Disgusted to see the Dulwich Bakery on Parkhall rd open for business today, why are they not taking this lockdown seriously? People are losing their lives. There is a sign in the window saying they are a 'takeaway service only'but that's all they are anyway, they have one small breakfast bar, they are not a table and chair eaterie, they are not a supermarket, they are not an essential service. Are they that selfish & irresponsible where they ignore the lockdown because they want to stay open? Are there any other shops you've seen open who shouldn't be? Seriously thinking people should boycott those shops in the future when this settles down for not following the Governments instructions which are in place to try and protect us all.
  10. There was a window smashed on a car on the corner of East Dulwich Grove & Elsie rd on Friday night.
