  1. Evening, We are looking for recommendations of a caterer to do our Year 6 Leavers Party on 28th June which will be from 17:30 - 20:00 - number TBC but likely 100 - 150 - preferably a BBQ / Salad Bar (no drinks required) There are no cooking facilities on site - does anyone have any recommendations or any suggestions of things they've done for similar parties at local schools? Many thanks
  2. We used The Little Disco Company or DJ Trev (07912207014) and hired our own space - used Watson's General Telegraph back room and also went to one upstairs at the EDT.
  3. You can take the 63 bus direct to Southwark Tube for the Jubilee line, from the Peckham Rye side of ED. Check Blackfriars Road is open again after waterworks, otherwise E&c and 10 mins walk. I do this regularly and on a Sunday it?s half an hour from the top of Forest Hill Road and easiest / less changes
  4. Evening All, Can anyone recommend cooking school /lessons for 6/7 year old kids that is relatively local? I?m ideally looking for something more than just a one off or cold only assembly. Many thanks, Gillian

  6. Another recommendation for the fabulous Steve and Helen. Never to early to plan for summer and these guys are very in demand. Really honest, top quality, good value advice and expertise. Can?t praise them highly enough.
  7. Steve has done various bits and pieces for us in the last month or so and has done a great job, very cheerfully and to a very high standard. Would definitely recommend.
  8. We are looking for someone who can pressure wash our outdoor wooden furniture and deck. It's a table with six chairs and a two seat set. It's not particularly large area. We are just off Forest Hill Road. Any suggestions or recommendations would be very welcome. Thank you.
  9. What a total find! Called Aria this morning and he's just left having replaced the whole toilet. Really tidy work, super polite, incredibly fast and efficient. Can't add to the recommendations enough. A great firm.
  10. We are looking for a tv engineer who can come and see what's up with our set up. We are near to Forest Hill Road. Any recommendations or introductions are welcome. Thanks you.
  11. Check out Villas4kids - loads of great locations with every thing you could need and totally child proofed
  12. We go to The South London School of Ballet at ED Harris Girls on Saturdays with our three year old. The teacher, Megan, is brilliant - and we have a reluctant dancer, who mostly just loves the outfit. www.thesouthlondonschoolofballet.co.uk
  13. I've known Bill for a number of years and seen much of his work. I suggested he post here, as I see so many people looking for recommendations, and he really is fantastic. Anyone looking for terrific work from someone with great passion and empathy, should look on Bill's website and make contact with him.
  14. Also used David and team after reading recommendation on here. Came round very quickly to quote, arrived exactly when he said, worked quickly and efficiently and it looks - as far as I can tell - like a great job and everything we agreed. Really impressive service and communication. Would highly recommend him and in fact already have to next door neighbour.
  15. I can highly recommend Liam who recently did, with great precision, a whole manner of jobs for us. Really efficient, honest and reasonable too. Definitely worth calling for all those jobs you've been putting off.
  16. Could anyone please recommend an engineer or fitter who would be able to run a connection via aerial or Sky Eye from our house to an outbuilding in the garden? Power connection exists, it's just the connections to the Sky box that's needed. Many thanks. Gillian
  17. I got an email from Kim saying it was on and our daughter is going. She's been going since about a year old but only really got into it from 18 months. She's two now and our nanny tells us she absolutely loves it, and the pictures would bear that out
  18. Very pleased to recommend Mark Fox telephone 07894 107 000 who recently undertook a top to bottom job in our house. A great craftsman who works quickly, tidily and with great attention to detail and pride in his work. Very reasonably priced too.
  19. Not exactly the same but we went to South Africa with a baby who only took made up SMA which they don't have. Took 70 bottles in luggage (35 litres weight) - each one wrapped in a nappy - and had lots of space to bring back things I'd bought. Lasted whole trip and beyond and I felt very relaxed as not trying anything new. Worth noting, like Oz that nappies, formula etc is about 4x price. I'd advise take with and shop the things you love back in the empty space.
  20. John is a complete star. Our heating and hot water failed on Easter Sunday. We called and he was (understandably) away but arranged to come first thing on Easter Monday. Arrived at 8am and had it all sorted within minutes and for a very reasonable price, especially given it was a bank holiday. He's reliable, cheerful and great value for money. I'd recommend him with pleasure.
  21. Very happy to recommend Steve (07941 344 137) who I first found out about on this forum. Called him, came straight away to quote and returned the next day to do a great job - quickly, cleanly and very reasonably. And followed up after to make sure we were happy with the result. Great service.
  22. We would love to come. Please let me know if it goes ahead.
  23. We've had Raydel doing jobs for us since last October including painting inside and out, reprinting, plastereing, damp work, filters, extract and then general jobs like hanging pictures, mending of minor irritations and lots more I am sure. He's brilliantly reliable, works in a very tidy fashion, completely trustworthy ( he has had our keys, alarm code and made friends with our dog over the past few months) and always on time and working to schedule. Mi don't hesitate to recommend him and am happy to be contacted directly if anyone would like more information. A true jack of all trades but in our experience, also the master of them all!
