  1. Does anyone know of anywhere I can recycle my safety razor blades. I did get them from Holland, but they charge for an envelope and of course there would be a postage charge. I was thinking there maybe a chemist which can recycle safely syringes etc may help. Beardies need not reply :) Thanks Muser
  2. My current expert, in Canada, is retiring and I need someone to please bring things up to date and continue to keep an eye on them. And to remind me how to create a gallery again and again and again.... ;) I use a Mac, though I don't think that makes any difference. Thanks Muser This is the main site: www.miko-greetings.com follow the links for the other sites
  3. I guess its a good idea to turn of heating? If there is no water to heat? And nothing is coming out of our taps at the mo.
  4. Can anyone recommend a fairly local garage that knows about Minis? There's an engine management light showing on the dash on ours and the manual says when this light is on it should be checked out asap. Thanks
  5. For the last few years I have been doing my own accounts but now need a professional to take over. Can anyone recommend a great accountant but, needless to say, not too pricey. Thanks Muser
  6. Somewhere betwixt Landcroft Rd and Goodrich Road To Camberwell and Streatham. Case grey with orange(Not sure) inside and black cleaning cloth. Any finders?
  7. I Happened across this little guy this morning in Goodrich Rd, near Lordship Lane junction.Looked a little off colour, so I tried some mouth to mouth and I hate to say , I did smell alcohol! Anyway, It's very cold out there, so I've bought him home. He's had a little black coffee and now he's sleeping. Dreaming of his best friend, I'm sure. It would be great to find his bestest friend. Anyone know who it is?
  8. This must have been mentioned before but: My Google address is blah blah rd. East Dulwich, BROMLEY!!! Great! Now I cant find where I found it. Ah well! Nice talking to you.
  9. Oh dear! That is dreadful news, very sad and way too early for those left behind. If you want to talk, welcome
  10. Back from another of my author/illustrator school visits yesterday. I do enjoy them as do the young creatives. My visits are to encourage our young people to get into books, by creating their own. I've always started my books by creating a 'character' and simply giving it a name, where it's from etc., a story is born. I'm now looking forward to my Can't Draw? Can Draw! fun workshops at Dulwich Books on 31st October. There are separate workshops for those who want to improve their creativity and for those who feel they have little confidence with pencil and paper. There are still a few places left. Looking forward to it, hope to see you there. Mik Brown/Miko, www.miko-cartoon.com www.creativecartoonclub.com
  11. Yes I realise that and apologised for that and explained that the 'neither safe or attractive' was referring to the pipe taking the gas in to our house. to go into more detail if you wish, I have explained it is a pipe attached to the side of our house from the pavement, therefore vulnerable to vandalism and as we are at a crossroads where accidents occur a car may indeed crash into it. It is ugly. Inside work, positioning was not thought out. There was a bad smell of gas when they left and the gas emergency service were called and attended several times. i am sure there is a legal requirement that they check everything for safety before switching on the gas connections to all our houses. So dont worry. Without intending to be rude, I would like to end the conversation there. If you do wish to communicate with me please PM me , I am sure everyone has had enough of our chat Best Muser
  12. Yes looking at it again perhaps it was a bit harsh, my apologies.I should have explained teh unsafe and unattractive reference was to the gas pipe in to our house is on the outside of our wall on the pavement and the interior work needed to be repositioned. I would certainly have warned peeps had the work been found to be unsafe. I was just very impressed at how they are dealing with our problem. Complimenting a utility company is something I'm not entirely used to.
  13. The problem we had is totaly unrelated to the other houses in Goodrich Road. If you have a problem then contact them if you havent then dont.
  14. Update: James Barber gave me the email address of the CEO of Southern Gas Networks. It is now all sorted and I am very impressed! The guys working the street were great but the job they did on our house was neither safe or attractive. A vulnerable gas pipe against the wall and inside a botch job connecting to the meter! The Team Manager contacted me immediately and he and the gang manager visited, agreed with my complaint. Have kept in touch along the line and are making amends this coming Friday. Very impressed and thankful to all concerned.
  15. Dreadful, Really wish you luck on bike returning to its rightful owner. Especially after that amazing charity trip.
  16. Thanks for that Ali. Sign in the street! Doh! May be I should look around a bit more. Have a great day
  17. Hi Anyone know their name? They were here last week digging up the road and reconnecting the gas to houses in Goodrich Rd. I need to contact them asap. Or how can I get hold of their name? Thanks Muser.
  18. Great Shame! I do hope Lucas is/are relocating. He worked hard to get his bakery business going. Selling at various shop fronts and then must have invested loads into a great cafe, apart from getting up eeeeaaarrrlyy to make the yummies!!. I understand that some peeps have been upset by the service. You seriously cant expect to be served by an ambitious, dedicated waiter or waitress?? . Methinks they must be on another path. Not surprising though the way we regard/disregard them? Its a lovely well designed environment in which to chill. What's your choice Lucas or Cafe Nero etc. ? Any road up,Long live peeps like Lucas.
  19. But the most memorable. Keep us up to date. Good luck the 3 of you.
  20. Me too, cos I called them 3rd Aug re leak outside 328 Crystal Palace road, still not fixed! I thought there may be a link. Was told they fixed Crys Pal road, but happened again??!! Oh Yes? Told the stoppage is due to problem outside 105? Goodrich Road . "We aim to get water back on within 6 hours. So you should be ok tomorrow morning!" Terrific! Ah well, at least I'm well stocked in deo!
  21. Thanks for that AlexC. My machine doesnt make that noise, so I missed the opportunity, but there is now progress!!The window is now not frozen and the force quit keys function. Which gave me a chance to force quit 'finder not responding' So far so good, but now its all frozen again and that spinning pizza is not allowing me select finder not responding!! I think Ill try unplugging again. Mik
  22. Latest OS. Mac Pro year old. Went onto 2nd internal hard drive to copy some photos onto Desktop. Swithced off, left for while and on, still the same. left off for several hours then on likewise. switched off and unplugged all. still frozen, tho time is now correct. Any thoughts? Desperate, deadlines!!! All on comp!! Thanks in advance Mik
