  1. It would be nice to have a Wetherspoons open up on LL. No doubt the current pubs we have will bump up their prices of pints on the pretence that they need to recoup money for being closed for 3 months. Spoons will at least give us the chance to get drunk at a reasonable price, and the nearest branch in Peckham is just plain scary- i've heard gang members discussing their latest stabbings in the smoking area more than once!
  2. I believe if you ask nicely one of the fried chicken shops in the Rye Lane area will cater for your wedding food, and it would offer good value. You could possibly feed all your guests well for under ?5 a head, and in tough economic times like this, that is not to be sniffed at.

This may have been the case in the childrens book 'animals of farthing wood', but not in reality. Please try to not confuse the two.
  4. They ought to not be encouraged, and feeding them just adds to the problem of them being in urban areas in the first place- they come as there are scraps of food to eat but then are a nuisance by ripping open bin bags, screaming in the middle of the night and generally offering nothing positive at all, apart from the the odd weirdo who thinks they are 'cute'. If you were my neighbour, i wouldnt be best pleased at you attracting them to where i live.
  5. I dont think it would be unreasonable that anyone who attended yesterdays protests to be quarantined for 14 days, if necessary by means of detention. All the sacrifices we made by not going out for months is being jeopardised by a movement who points i agree with, but essentially started because a known criminal was killed by rogue Police on a different continent. If lives mattered so much, why would you potentially put them at risk, just to chant some stuff at Police for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon?
  6. The opportunity for other thefts, burglary in particular, has likely gone down now everyone is constantly at home. Things like bike theft will naturally increase.

Do they think this is some kind of quaint chocolate box village were everyone toddles around saying 'good day' to each other? Jesus wept.
  8. My go to place for a fry up. Strikes a great balance between pretentious Lordship Lane cafe and greasy spoon. Have they been open for takeaway all this time?
  9. No thanks. Reasons why are summed up quite well here: http://www.brixtonbuzz.com/2019/10/the-laundry-bistro-wine-shop-adds-a-fresh-layer-of-gentrification-to-coldharbour-lane-brixton/
  10. this initially sounds like it could be a similar incident to the burglary gone wrong in Hither Green last year.

There are many, many parts of the country where you will achieve this without needing to twitch your curtains, email the council or call the already overstretched Police force who are understandably wary of attending such scenes without contracting Coronavirus and taking it back to their families. I am actually going to go to this spot and check to observe whether this 'crazy' rubbish that is apparently everywhere is fact or fiction. I suspect it is the latter and is a mere stick to beat the miscreants who dare to cause the slightest bit of commotion which you think is out of place, even though they are perfectly entitled to do so. Still, i suppose you have the other 10 months of year when the weather is rubbish where you wont be disturbed. Then again, i get the feeling that even too many dog walkers in the deep mid winter may also not be to your pleasing.
  12. Peckham is a hotbed for Coronavirus- people should not be gathering there. The demographic of the area itself is how it is and the virus does not discriminate.
  13. Whilst i agree with the reasons behind any protest linked to the abhorrent incident in the US, and also agree that 'Black Lives Matter', i dont agree with large numbers of people gathering during a pandemic in an area that has had very high numbers of people getting ill and dying from the virus. It is almost a sick irony, that lives matter yet by gathering like this they are putting themselves and those of their families in danger of getting ill and as a consequence possibly dying. We hear that Coronavirus affects the BAME community disproportionately higher, with behaviour such as this protest, you can begin to see reasons why.
  14. I was on Clapham Common yesterday evening, by the spot where the ice cream van normally is near Clapham High Street, i counted, within my immediate eyesight- NINE (9) huge bins for people to dump their rubbish in when they were finished on the common.
  15. oh look its a smug, self righteous type who (claims to) work with the homeless, and can therefore lecture people on how to think and act in life.
