Hey, I am on the first floor and I am directly impacted if roof leaks. We got a roofing company to do repair work which was supposed to be guaranteed. However, when it started leaking again, we were informed that the guarantee is just for a new roof and not repair work. Each time the company that did the repair work came out again over the next few years, we had to pay additional amounts. The roof continues to leak, so I have just organised another company to fix the roof instead, as the guarantee doesn't mean anything.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of a RIC’s surveyor, specifically for the roof in the local area. I think the type of survey is called a defects survey and I did have a look on the RICS website but there seems to just be a few in London who do these. Each cost about £1k. We have had a few roofing contractors on the roof over the years but they each seem to have a different opinion, so I would like an independent evaluation. I keep getting leaks every few years even after repair work done. Best wishes

Hey, really sorry to hear you are going through this. Do you live alone? Could you get a family member or friend to move in for a while and see if that changes the dynamic.

I think you can write to your local council to get the street cleaned more regularly. Also the may put more posters up to remind ppl to do clean up

I would recommend Howdens but you need a tradesmen who has an account at a particular branch. I got my last kitchen from there and was happy with customer service and also kitchen but they only sell to trade. I think the experience depends on the tradesperson and what discounts they can get. Do you have a tradesperson in mind?

Hey, just wondered if anyone knows about adult swimming lessons for someone going on holiday start of August. They tried Dulwich and Alleywn but there is a wait to join classes, so looking for one to one lessons.

I also agree that it’s unfair to indicate that this man has serious mental problems, as I don’t think you are qualified to diagnose this. I think it’s more likely stress from having to live close to a family in a small space. I believe you say you are a quiet family but small children make a lot of noise, so you could pay for more sound proofing as a gesture of goodwill for disrupting his life. Could also try mediation.
