  1. Fuschia is probably the person to ask. She got me onto the twins club which is every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. See Website Dulwich Twins Club And there are a few things that go on in Peckham Rye Park (The 1 o'clock Club, etc...)
  2. Try Phil and Teds Me Too Portable Highchair... http://www.lilimay.com/nursery-furniture/philandteds/me-too.php
  3. Warranty IS warranty... Just because someone "gives" something to a "friend" - just say - does not mean that the warranty becomes invalid! Make sure that you get the original receipt though as proof of address means nothing and proof of purchase means everything. After all when was the last time you were asked for proof of address when you tried to return something in a shop? All they are after is proof of purchase. I would, however, not quote me on that ;-)
  4. Well that pretty much makes my mind up... Thanks for feedback and saving me ?30! :)
  5. Has anyone got this "Bath Dam". It looks like a good idea in theory but I have bought so many recommended things that I have not used that I was hoping for a bit of advice before buying this... It can be seen on www.babybathshop.co.uk Apparently my bubs are quite long (4+ months and over 65cm ::o), they no long fit into the (wash) tub that I use to bathe them in. I would rather just pop them in the bath but I do not want to top up the bath everyday, it seems such a waste of water. Any solutions?
  6. Well the debate in my head goes on... Le Chardon, been loads and mostly for lunch so wouldn't be anything special for a birthday lunch! Franklins, love it, but never been for lunch and it IS a Tuesday so probably will be rather quiet (but then on a Tuesday where wouldn't...). Palmerston, well my man works in a fab gastropub in Chelsea and I don't think he would be charmed if I took him to "work" in a weird kinda way. Especially if it is not as good, no insult to Palmerston as I do think it's a great pub! I love Barcelona, but as you say DavidC, not the most romantic of places! Mmmm, now Beauberry House, mixed reviews here and I am rather interested. However, frigid is not a word that makes me think romantic and sexy... Number 22 in Herne Hill, don't know it so may have to do a little research Locale is my local, if it wasn't it would be the one that I would choose... Chez Bruce tops my list but I really wanted something walking distance... Was going to give Biagio La Lanterna a try but they are closed for reburb! If I have to travel that distance there are so many choices, Le Poulet Pot for french, Bibendum for seafood, La Famiglia for Italian, and that's just a handful around Chelesa. There is Farringdon/ Spitalfields, West End, etc. all just a short bus ride. Maybe I am being too fussy but what the hell, now if Moxons had a restaurant attached I would go just so that I could pig out on seafood... Thanks all for your help!!! Will let you know how this story ends ;-) p.s. Still open to suggestion...
  7. Any recommendations for a sexy eatery nearby for a birthday lunch? Can be ED, Nunhead, Forest Hill, you know somewhere close to home. Oh, not (another) Indian please! Tandoori Nights is my prefence and is not really my choice for a frivolous birthday lunch for 2 :)
  8. Oh yes go to Sardegna!!! It's fantastic and the flights are relatively cheap depending on flexibilty in dates. The food is heavenly - oh the seafood!, the weather is still wonderfully warm, the seaside (or rockside if you prefer as the coastline has both) and the countryside is beautiful and the people are lovely. I cannot praise the country enough. We go every year and we have now bought an apartment there, bring on September Holidays!
  9. Oh dear! What to do, what to do... Any recommendations then? I am only looking for a Monday, perhaps 2 days at a later date. The twins will be 7 1/2 months when they start so needs to be a nursery that takes that age group. I am happy to go with a childminder so open to suggestions. I know that a lot of people have chosen not to go back to work fulltime and are off Mondays and/ or Fridays which makes it very convenient for me as Monday is the 1 day that I HAVE to be at work. If I do decide to send the twins 2 days then Friday would be my first choice covering that second day.
  10. Hey there, Does anyone have any experience with this nursery? I got a good feel from the staff and they were great with my twins when I went in for a look around. They held them so that I could take a baby-less wander around and when I collected them they had both contently fallen asleep in the staff's arms. So even though I feel good about it but first hand experience and advice would be very much appreciated. I felt a bit rushed at 2 other nurseries I went to, one of them impressed me and the other was a definite no-no! HELP!
  11. Hire! Don't think it's worth it to buy because you never even know if you are definitely going to use it. I had initially decided to use TENS and ended up using gas (and finally had an epidural - but then I did have twins both natural delivery on the Thursday after being induced on the Tuesday... so I deserved all the drugs I could get hold of!!). Seriously though gas is the way to go. I know that Kings college Hospital rents them out so you can just ask when you go in. Good luck and get as much rest as you can before the sleepless nights set in. Indulge in long bubble baths with music and candles, you won't get to have those for a while! M ;)
